help! really confused

hi i stopped bc in aug of 05. i did not have a period for 7 months. went to doctor she put me on Provera the 1st cycle of Provera i took me 5 days to have a period. the 2nd cycle it took 3 day. i am currently on my 3rd, my last provera tab was aug 24 it  has been 6 days and no period. also my nipples have been so sore and i am really tired. i took a hpt and it was neg. my last period from provera was july 27. is it too soon to pick up preg. and when should i test again. thanks

You probably should get a blod test. I agree that you could have ovulated any time because of the hormones. Hope you get what you want.

Your last period was July 27th.  Your next period was due on August 24th, although it hasn't come even with the help of Provera and you're 6 days late.  Did I get that right?

Well, a hpt after your period is late is very accurate, except you didn't say when you took the test.  My advice is to take another one tomorrow morning, using first morning urine, and make sure it's an early detection test.  If still negative, call the doctor and ask what to do.  Usually they want to you to wait at least 10 days after your last Provera pill before they take any further action.

Im not familiar with provera, although there are lots of girls here who are and im sure youll get a lot of info soon, but I just wanted to tell you that if you are pg, and you wouldnt know whe you ovulated, since you have been taking meds, its possible to get a bfn even if you are pg.  THat happened to me, and when I retested a couple of days later, it was bfp.  I am now 5 months.  Why dont you call your dr. just to be sure?

I hope your pg, but if you're not...no worries.  I am sort of in the same position as you.  No AF for four months, did the provera challenge, and still no AF.  Dr then looked at my lining and took my estrogen levels and said my lining looked like I had a period two days ago and wasn't building up because I had low estrogen levels (not post-menopausal low, but close enough).  She told me to stop working out (or if you don't work out, are you stressed about something?) and I will see her in three months.  She'll have me do the provera again in no AF before appt and we'll go from there.  Just a thought if your not pg, but good luck and let us know:)

hi thanks for the replys. i called doctor and she said to take another hpt in 2 weeks if still neg i should double up on Provera next month. she said to keep checking ovulation kit and if i see that i am not ovulating i should go back and we will try something to make me ovulate. i am so frustrated right now i want a baby more than anything but i hate taking more pills and hormones to get one. that is how i got here in the first place by taking bc pills. i guess i will have to wait 2 more weeks. thanks again for the advice.:)

HI THERE I WOULDNT DOUBLE UP ON MY DEPO PROVERA QUITE YET ESPECIALLY IF YOUR BODY IS TELLING YOU YOU ARE PREGNANT I WAS ON THE NEEDLE. AND I GOT PREGNANT WITH MY 3RD CHILD WITH IT AND I WAS TAKING IT FOR 2 YEARS BEFORE I GOT PREGNANT. I WENT TO PLANNED PARENT HOOD EVERY WEEK FOR A MONTH AND MY TEST WERE ALWAYS NEG BUT MY BODY WAS TELLING ME I WAS PREGNANT SORE BOOBS AND TIRED, MY DOC TOLD ME TO DOUBLE UP AND I DIDNT WANT TO SO FINALLY AFTER ABOUT 3 HOME PREGNANCY TESTS AND 4 AT THE CLINIC ITS CAME BACK I WAS AND I WAS 8 WEEKS BY THEN.. I WOULD RECOMEND THAT YOU REQUEST A BLLOD TEST BEFORE DOUBLING UP. I AM ALSO POSTING MY EMAIL ADDRESS SO I CAN TALK ONE ON ONE WITH OTHER PREGNANT PEOPLE CAUSE NOW I AM WORKING ON NUMBER 4 LOL.
