high BBT's, neg preg tests, and bleeding

by dancer4304, Mar 26, 2005 12:00AM
My husband and I have been trying to conceive.  I've never been regular, and for 2 years up until last August I had not had a cylcle due to excessive physical activity and low body weight.  My cycle began to come back when I gained some weight and reduced my activity, but I don't ovulate regularly on my own.  I chart myself regularly by taking my basal body temp every morning.
This past cycle was my first on Clomid.  After ovulation, my temps rose as they should and have stayed high every since (today makes 23 days of high temperatures).  About a 9 days ago, (about the time I should have gotten my period), I had what I thought was my period: but instead of 5 days of heavy bleeding and a few days of spotting, I had only 3 days of medium/heavy bleeding and 2 days of spotting.  And during this time, my temperatures did not drop at all.  I spoke with my doctor and he said to take a pregnancy test.  I have taken 4 pregnancy tests in the last 2 weeks and they have all come out negative.  It's been 3 and 1/2 weeks since ovulation, but my temps have not fallen yet.  What could be going on?
Could I have had an early miscarriage?  Could it be an ovarian cyst (would a cyst cause my temps to stay high?)?  What are the chances that I am actually pregnant?
I am going for a blood test (beta-hcg) on monday and a pelvic exam next week to check 4 ovarian cysts.  In the meantime, I really want to know what is going on with my body.
Also, for the past 2.5 weeks I have felt sick to my stomach and constantly tired.  Please help me!  Thanks...

It sounds like you just had a period since it is highly unlikely that every period lasts the same amount of time. You can add stress and hormones in there, and a lot of things can vary.

First and for most you have to not worry about getting pregnant trying and getting a negitive can be very stressful. Have sex just for fun. 2nd off i know what it is like to not gain weight and keep it. I have had 2 kids and just now weigh 113. I just now weigh what i'm suppose to weigh but it won't be that way for long. You have to eat right, drink power shakes, and excersise everyday. This is the only way to get the weight you want and stay healthy. I weighed 96 before my 1st and 98 before the 2nd. It can be done. Just enjoy life and sex and the rest will follow if there are no health problems with your reproductive organs.

Hi,
My basal temperature stayed high for about 4 days and was normal today. But I have sore breasts for 5 days now. I usually have sore breasts before my periods; but this time I have not got it yet. I understand that it could be harmonal changes, and because I am stressing to finish my thesis. But, it is not stopping me from thinking if I may be pregnant. I have regular periods in 50 - 55 days. Should I wait for more symptoms to show up for pregnancy? Any advice in this regard would be greatly appreciated.
