high progesterone test, nobody will tell me

by waitingat40, Jul 30, 2006 12:00AM
Ok, this is my second month on clomid and i got a shot of novarel, wh tried to conceive 7/22 when ovulation was supposed to be. Whent to the dr. friday 7/28 and progesterone was 65.  Can't take a p test because I am told I will get a false +.  Cant take a bllod test till 8/4.  Took a p test today anyway and it was -.  So what does it all mean. Is the p test right or wrong?  I know the progesterone is high, has to be over or at least 15 but why is it soo high?

The hpt's test HCG not progesterone.  Your HCG levels have to be high enough to test.  If you can't test until 8/4, it's too early even with the early detection tests.

The fact that your progesterone is high, is a good sign.  It is however a medicated level so it's hard to determine if it means anything or not.

Good luck, I hope you get your positive

I know the feeling.   I had high progeterone levels with three cycles of clomid, but no pregnancy.   It's frustrating.  And the level was so high the final time that my doctor told us to "take a month off".   My levels were 28 with 50 mg clomid, 40+ with 100 mg clomid and 70+ with the second 100 mg.  So, just hand on there and hope.   The levels just say that your lining was prepped for pregnancy, not necessarily that you are, but keep hoping.  I'll hope with you.  GOOD LUCK
