If you are between 20 and 30, I would give it a good year of trying. Try charting your temp or using ovulation predictor kits. Go to twoweekwait.com and you will have a ton of info and new friends to meet in the chatroom there. Good luck to you.
I was told by docs that it would probably take me about a yr or so to conceive since I had been on the pill for 7 years prior to getting pregnant. I stopped my pill mid october and my LMP was november 28th.. so technically thats a littleLittle noses decongestant Little tummys over a month..We BD everyday multiple times and I guess it worked lol..I teied charting in the beginning and was like what the heck nothing helped and it was too stressful for me.. but I had some difficult times with my period too..So I dont know.. stopped my pill, got my period for 6 days, bled again oct28-31 and then light spottingVaginal bleeding between periods nov 28,29 and am now 19 weeks.. Best of luck:)
I am 22 trying for my second child and on clomid and NOTHING, I am going crazy! I have heard huge sucess stories about clomid but I am on my 5th round and still not pregnant. My husband is my 1st chid's father so I have'nt done anything different. I am starting to wonder if it is ever going to happen.
Hi, I tried for 5 months of nothing. I tried these things, and was pregnant by the 5th month. start taking your prenatalPrenatal 1 plus 1 Prenatal 19 Prenatal ad Prenatal elite Prenatal h Prenatal low iron Prenatal multivitamin Prenatal multivitamins Prenatal plus Prenatal plus iron Prenatal s vitamins ahead of time. It is good for you and the baby. Try taking BiotinBiotin forte Biotin forte with zinc, which is a supplement for strong/healthy hair and nails (some one on one of these forums said, after taking biotin, several people/animals, including a horse and a uterine cancer patient, ALL got pregnant. I was desperate, tried it and got pregnant that month! I have no idea if this is what did it, but it couldn't hurt to try!) Also have your partner take Zinc, it increases sperm count and motility. The month I took biotin, I had my hubby take zinc, and that was the month I got pregnant. I also went to my Gyno for an exam. I was due for one, and I wanted to make sure everyhting was OK w/ my 'system'..I thought it would be better to know, what if anything, was wrong 5 months into trying, instead of a year of trying. The last thing that worked for me, was I stopped letting it control my life! for the 4 months prior, I was OBSESSED, it was all i thought and talked about; and each month, Of course, I was heart broken when my period came. Once I stopped letting it control my life (I'm the kind of person that likes to be in control!:) and I relaxed, it happened! These things in combination, seemed to work for me. It wouldn't hurt to try them yourself. They are all healthy measures that will help your health and also your chances of TTC. Good luck to you, I hope it happens soon! ****BABY DUST 2 YOU!!*****
I would just say be patient. I am 20 and it took me 22months to get pregnant. Just to stop worrying, stop taking OPK test, just live life and do what you do best, live life! I stop worrying and there it was, I was pregnant!!!
i tried for 3 months w/ no results... i got depressed, started drinking and stopped actively trying... i ended up conceiving w/ the fiance (w/o even remembering) and got a BFP 2 weeks later.
i think that the stress of worrying while trying can negatively affect fertility.
stop expecting results and you'll most likely get them... it worked for me.
Okay, I got pregnant on the first try! Here's what we did: I started taking prenatal vitamins about 6 months before because on the "what to expect when you're expecting" website it says Zinc increases fertility. Also, have your man start taking a multivitamin and about 2 weeks before ttc have him start drinking orange juice every day because Calcium increases sperm count. Get to know your cycle or get a ovulation predictor, I ovulated on a Tue, so we bd Sat, Sun, Tue, and Thurs and then whenever after that! After bding, give yourself an orgasm with the help of your hubby or a toy, because orgasming opens your cervix and makes it like a sponge drawing sperm deep inside. Lie on your back with your bum on a pillow for 30 min!! That's what we did and it worked!! I ovulated Dec 13 and Christmas morning we got the bfp and now I'm 20 weeks!! I hope this help you! Good luck!!
Oh yeah, I also forgot to mention that I went off of birth control in Sept and just used condoms until Dec when we were hoping to get pregnant! I thought it would increase the chances if the hormones were completely cleared of my system!!
How many mcg of biotin did u take. I went to purchase and there were two different mcg's 1000mcg and 5000mcg so I figured the more the merrier I got the 5000mcg. I am also taking prenatals with an additional supplement of folic acid 800mcg. Do you think that is too many vitamins? Are you still taking them (biotin) now that you are pg? How many mcg of zinc for my DH? Thank you in advance for your suggestions.
I'm not sure where you are but here in the US, I got GNC brand Biotin 600, 600 mcg. I am no longer taking them, only cuz I'm really bad about remembering to take them. For the Zinc, it was 50 mg. These are both pretty easy to find in drugstores. I don't think you are taking to many vitamins, but If you are taking a good prenatal vitamin, that should have all the folic acid you need. I am unsure if taking these supplements is actually what got me pregnant, but taking vitamins is good for you anyways. I hope you have the same sucess...Good luck!
I am in Sacramento CA. Thank you so much for the info. WOW, my Biotin bottle says super potency 5000mcg, it is just a cheap Wal-Mart brand. My prenatals are also store brand with only 800mcg of folic acid and I was told that I needed at least 1000mcg so to take a supplement. I have been off the pill for a year now and ttc. My AF was due 4-3-07 and it has not arrived yet, (16 days late) but I keep getting BFN results!! I called my dr and took a blood test on 4-12-07 which was also neg. I am willing to try anything. If AF don't come by end of month I will go to dr again to see what is wrong b/c I am never late, something must be wrong. So, what do you think about the 5000mcg of biotin? That is 4400mcg over the 600 you took. Is too much Biotin harmful?
I've never heard anything about Biotin helping fertility, just Zinc in the female, not male! Look it up on what to expect website! There is Biotin in prenatals, so just take those and give your husband a multivitamin too for the Vitamin C! True the other things I recommended and hopefully it will work. Worked for us on the very first try!!
I don't think you can have too much biotin, it is good for hair and nails anyways..sounds like you are doing everything right. I am NOT saying that Biotin is used for Fertility/infertility in any way. Some one on here mentioned that after taking it, their horse & a uterine cancer survivor got pregnant. I thought It was worth a try. I am not even sure if this had ANYTHING to do with the fact that I got pregnant, it could have just been our "month"...It can't hurt to try. Yes, Zinc is good for both the Male and Female reproductive systems, they are often in both male/female fertility blend supplements, (mostly herbs/vitamins, very pricey and there viability is still widely unknown) but zinc is especially good for sperm count. Most bottles of zinc say right on them that they help support the male reproductive system, I never noticed until I looked. I would also say, if you have not been to have an exam in a year or more, you really should have one, just to make sure all is well. Also, voice to your Doc, if you have not already, Your concerns of TTC for a year now with no results. They may have more solutions and can take on the next step. Best of luck to you and I hope all your baby wishes come true soon!
