I've heard that you shouldn't let your body temp get above 102 degrees for longer than 20 minutes.  It doens't take very long for your temp to get that high in a very hot bath or in a jacuzzi.

I love taking baths. I like mine pretty hot too. I have always heard it isn't good to have really hot baths during pregnancy, but I never heard why, I guess it is bad to raise your body temp. too much??. I don't use hot tubs, they kinda ick me out anyways. I took hot baths while pregnant w/ dd, and she is totally fine. I do w/ this pregnancy too. I know it is too hot if it is burning my skin too much, or if I get in and it is just makes me woozy or light headed or too hot. In which case, I empty some hot water out and add some cooler water. I have never taken the temperature of my bath. Just use your head..Or set  your hot water heater to a reasonable temp, so it can't get to hot in the first place. I have never heard of a baby having problems based on how hot a bath tub's water was.

I think that early on it's more of a concern that later. I was told by 2 seperate OB's not to take a bath hotter than 100 degrees (why don't keyboards have a degree symbol? lol) Being in the water too long gets you too warm and the baby's already warmer than you so it raises the baby's temp even higher. Which I'm guessing (only guessing) is like them getting a fever which is never a good thing! :)
