i justt want to ask if i want to do a blood test to check fpor pregnancy, should it be first thing in the morning without eating any thing, or just doesn't matter? i missed my period since the 14 of this month and i don't want to spend too much money on hpt, while i can get a blood test which is most accurate for the same price. thank you.

not to be rude, but if you can't afford an hpt should you be trying to get pregnant? hpt's don't cost much at all. you can even purchase some at dollar stores.
but to answer your question, it doesn't matter. the reason they suggest testing urine in the AM is because it is more concentrated from not drinking for a while.

oh don't worry, you are rude, it is not your problem if i am trying to be pregnant or not! i think iknow more about this probleme. do you think that if i can't afford an hpt test i will afford a blood work???????
i just said that blood test are more accurate and that is what i need, and it will cost 25 dollars at least, and the most expensive hpt is for 17 dollars. i don't believe in dollar store hpt

Dollar store HPT's work better sometimes anyways. You are in my opinion throwing your money away getting the expensive ones. I got a expensive one and it gave me a negative. Then I took a generic one and got a BFP... so go figure. It's about what levels the test actually test at. Here's a good site for that.

i believe you, but the problem is that i had a bad expeience with those hpts in my first pregnancy they did not gave me a + until i was exactly 3 weeks late, eventhough i did one i think  days before i missed my period and it was -., and it was clearblue for 14.99, and that make me sad throwing all this money, "i am not that rich, but i am not poor" so tomorrow i will try the dollar store one.

Try the walgreens one. It worked for me when I was about as late as you. Check out that site and get one of the ones that test at lower levels... Good luck.

Hey...if you want to get the most out of your hpt...take it in the morning...there is the highest level of hcg to detect as your kidney's have been filtering all night and your bladder is just waiting to get rid of it!!!

HPT's worked for my first two, random tests usually at mom's encouragement, but then again I was 3+ months pregnant with them both before I found out... previous tests were negative!

With this one... yeah, Doctors office HPT and I was 5 1/2 weeks... which was strange.

But blood tests for $25?  Mine were at least $100+ depending on the lab.

can you just go have a test without a dr's rx for it?  nermine just take a home test.  really even if it was $30 you will be spending more than that if a baby were to come. go to a free clinic tomarrow if you want.

yeah i did the blood test with my first, in access lab, it is arab community...(something)..economic and social services.
you think i have to wait more or just go ahead and do either one, let us wait untill tomorrow and i will see what my intuition will tell me. i have a feeling that i am not pregnant but why i could be that late, this never happened to me before i got pregnant.

nermine if you are late, then a test should show positive at this point (for most women that is).  you have been under so much stress that it could be a reason too.  take a test to ease your mind. our bodies change so much after a loss.  after my mc my af would come earlier and earlier for months.  i would feel pg some months, and others not have many cramps or anything at all.  how late are you and have you been late recently?

i had my period last month at the 14 and by tomorrow i will be 6 days late, i am waiting for my period, i check my underwear every five minutes, but i don't have any cramps, and i don't have any pregnancy symptoms, i want to be pregnant but not desperate like i was before, i believed or conviced (spelling?) my self that will happen one day without planning like my first. i love her so much and she is in my heart alone right now and i don't think that there is a space for any one else...sounds crazy and not truth but trust me that what i am feeling in these days, i don't care if i got pregnant soon or not, i am happy with her picture around me in my wallets, in my room in my car, every where, i feel that she is here. i keep telling her "i love you mommy" , i even bought her or myself a small blanket with a plush that baby hold while slleping and i keep it with me. that is make me feel she is here. and go shopping for her and at the end i leave the stuff and feel that i got her something.... well i know that sounds crazy but that comfort me a lot.

yup, i am doing what it is comfortable an bring rest to me, regardless of what my husband's family think of it( they live next to us, and all my family is over seas), i don't care, he is fine with what i am doing, he even got me frame for her picture to put it on my dresser. i am happy like this, i went to the cemetery 3 times since i lost her, but i don't find any thing speial there, she is not there, she is here inmy house, i n my heart, where ever i am.

you should definitely try to dollar store brand...they worked for me 5 days before my period...and i was unconvinced (since they were dollar store) and spent the money on a "good" one - same results!

Ha.  I was going to say the same thing.  I tried the dollar store brand first when I was a week late and got a positive result.  I was unconvinced so I went out and bought the most expensive one and got the same results.

I always waited to test till I was a few days late, even though I pretty much knew with my last 2 pregnancies.  If you test even a few days early you can get a negative if it's too soon.  My Dr. doesn't do blood tests unless you have tried the urine test or there is something else going on.  They have told me that the urine tests are pretty accurate.  Sometimes it takes awhile for a person to register, but it can mean that they have lower levels of hormones and may m/c too.  All of mine were very dark from around 4 days late.  I just used the Answer brand as it was cheap and gave me multiple tests.  I got accurate results.  I think if you had issues and had a healthy pregnancy that didn't register on the hpt, then call your Dr.  The test may be only $25, but I bet you'll get charged for hte visit too, just a heads up.  Good luck with whatever you decide.

Hey nermine..........I don't think it will matter when you go to get the blood test since you're almost a week late! I had mine first thing in the morning on an empty tummy (too nervous to eat lol), but i think anytime would be fine since your blood wouldn't be dilluted like urine would be! :)

Also, like some of the others said...I did use the dollar tree test and it was positive 5 days before AF was due. Even the First Response wasn't showing up + at that point! I do know what you mean about spending too much money on the HPT's...they don't always work the greatest for some people and the cost adds up when you keep buying them!

with my this pregnancy. i was over a week late and the test showed a -....i tested 3 days later and i got a +. but with the second test...it might have been like $5 cheaper.

i can understand the point nermine is making. if she takes a test and gets a positive, after  her last loss she'll still be getting the blood test, so maybe she can avoid the expense of the urine tests and retsts that so many of us do. i personally took probably five myself and did not stop until i had a blood test to give me a firm answer. as for the blood test, it doesn't matter what time of day or what is in your stomach, that won't effect the hormone levels.

thank you guys, your comments were helping, i did the blood test this morning, and paid $18, and i have Aa feeling, that i am not, i have lower backache, i feel like AF is coming soon!!! so i just did it, and i will get the results by tomorrow noon, but as i told you, i have no hope. again thank you and i will post the result tomorrow.
