*WrinklesAging changes in skin WrinklesnoseNose fracture* Having a child isn't about picking the gender or anything like that... The important thing is having a healthy pregnancy and a healthy baby. You get what you get, and that should be special enough.... just my opinion.
Actually, if both of you are healthy and normally fertile, you can tip the scales in the boy favor statistically. I think you end up with 65-35 percent chance for a boy, which is significant. Trying for a girl isn't nearly as successful by the numbers.
Here's a link to a book we used, trying for a girl, and that's how we conceived Will. ;D So.
Basically you do everything you can to help the sperm if you're going for a boy. You do everything you can to stress the sperm if you're going for a girl. Couples with infertility issues are much more likely to conceive girls because of that - the process is difficult and stressed, and only the stronger sperm live through it.
If you aren't completely open to having either sex, though, don't try to get pregnant. If you wouldn't be thrilled to have a healthy girl, parenthood isn't for you right now.
if you have lots and lots of money.. you can go to a specialist .. and they can do that for you.. if not.. just remember that girl sperm lasts longer than boy sperm.. but boy sperm is faster when it comes to motility.. and i think.. but am not sure.. that if you hoping for a girl. you are supposed to have sex like .. shoot.. nevermind.. i cant remember.. let me look that up. i remember hearing about it on the tlc channel..lol. eeesh!
besides... does it really matter of the sex of the child? as long as he/she arrives.. and is ok .. who cares!! you have a 50/50 chance.. guessing until you get the ultrasound is half the fun..lol.. and keep it even funner.. dont find out until the baby comes out!
oh man, if you want to pick.....why don't you go to the pet shop and pick a puppy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! this is not about 'how to make a boy/girl' thing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! what if you are 'making' a boy and ooooops! comes out a girl!!??? are you gonna act like Kim (some threads above) and be all like 'i don't wanna play anymore....'??????
With a healthy girl already, I'm trying for a boy too to balance the family. I used the Shettles' method, but won't know until I get pregnant. If you try to a boy, it'll take longer as you'll always be trying to conceive when you have ideally just ovulated so the faster male sperm will get there. If you haven't ovulated yet, even with the faster male sperm there's no use to be fast if they end up waiting for the egg. Last month I tried it once and DIDN'T get pregnant. This is my second month. I'm about 9dpo with negative prego test. Will let you know if I can pregnant at all and if so if the method works. I know it's always easier said than done to sit back and let mother nature decides. You'll love your kids no matter what gender they are, but your desire to get the opposite will probably not stop. Good luck.
You have to pick the right husband: they found out that statistically high stress level professions, let`s say air traffic controllers or combat pilots, have more girls and concluded that those guys only produce "slow sperm". It doesn`t make a lot of sense but hey, statistics are the modern form of old-wives-tales. Maybe it just means that stressed husbands have less sex and chances for that "bang-on" fertilization at ovulation are just rarer.
How about a nice B job right before 'it'.....they say saliva slows sperm down.....and I bet the sucker will love the idea of conceiving a bunch of girls after all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL!!!!
Luck of the draw. There is no for sure way. Going by the old wives tales and scientifically I should be having a girl, I am having a boy. I conceived 5 days after last having sex.
i also investigated this. you will need to know when your ovualting and for a boy need to have sex on that same day. for a girl it should be one or two days before. Some other things i have read is for a boy get your man to have a strong cup of coffee before sex (maybe half and hour before,) also his balls have to be nice and cool so i made my man wear boxers and have a cold shower! best position is doggy style so his sperm is as close to the cervix as it can get as the boys swim faster but die quicker. We did all this and i got pregnant the first month of trying but unfortunaltly i lost the baby so i never did find out if it was a boy or girl. We are lookin forward to trying again this month!!:) Good luck to you and im sure that no matter what you have your going to love it anyway so dont worry about the other negative comments you have been getting!! :)
For those wanting to conceive a boy, Shettle's method suggest for you to come before he comes to make your environment more alkaline. I think it make sense for you to come AGAIN after your partner comes too because it'll give the male sperm a lift up the cervix for a better chance to conceive sooner. I didn't do that last month and didn't get pregnant. Let's see if it'll work this time. I agree it's always easier to to tell other mom-to-be not to worry about the gender or trying to conceive. When it comes to ourselves, it's a nightmare just yearning to it to happen.
Wow, I never really cared when I was BDing, had no idea all the work behind it. Can't be too fun if you have to concentrate so much on it. I can say I got 2 healthy boys and looking back, I did have sex at least with the second one later during my ovulation, so could be true about the faster sperm. My sil totally freaked about boys and hated the idea of having one. She even refused to learn the sex of the baby because if it was a boy she thought it would ruin the rest of her pregnancy. We were very concerned for her, she did end up going on antidepressants and it helped some. She had her tubes tied after her 2nd girl for fear that she wouldn't get so lucky again. She also didn't talk to me for 6 days when she found out first baby was a boy. She had a total break down on the phone, said she was so sorry for me and hung up. Thankfully she was okay when the second one was a boy too, and has moved past her boy issues, but I was so happy to have another boy. I get to use the clothes and toys again that I wasn't ready to get rid of. Such good memories, and my two boys look almost identical at the same ages, so crazy! Good luck trying, just don't be too crushed if you have another girl.
