implantation bleed

can implantation bleeding be similar to a period.  I am experiencing what started off a brownish colour, now red and tiny clots.  No stomach cramps, or any other pain.  It is about a week after sex, and period is normally due on 17th - 20th.  Any advice?

I think I'm going through the same thing. I read that implantation bleeding is very light, much lighter than a regular period, and more brown or pink, and can happen a little before or on the day you're expecting your period.

Do you know when i could take a p test?  Do i have to wait until after my period would normally be due?

you can take a test as early as 5 days before your regular period or 12 days post ovulation. Try clearblue, it detects pregnancy very early,at least it did for me.

I never had any bleeding during my pregnancy, and I have heard that implantation bleeding is very very very slight.  If you can wait (which I know is EXTREMELY difficult to do) you should wait until the 17th or 20th and take a test.  At that point, any test on the market should detect a pg.

I HAVE A QUESTION.  I WENT TO THE DR. FOR MY FIRST APPOINTMENT YESTERDAY.  ACCORDING TO LMP I SHOULD BE AROUND 7 WKS. PREG.  ACCORDING TO THE ULTRASOUND, I AM ONLY WEEKS SINCE ALL THEY SAW WAS THE SAC AND NO EMBRYO.  DOES THAT MEAN THAT THE BABY HAS NOT IMPLANTED YET?

Implantation is what causes you to miss your period.  Your body does not know there is an embryo unless it implants itself.  The implantation causes a change in hormones, which causes you to miss your period, and part of that is the rising of your hcg levels (which is what the pregnancy tests detect).  So, if you've gotten a positive hpt then implantation has already occurred for you.  The fact that they can't see much with the u/s at this early stage is not a big deal, I don't think.  Just keep going in for the tests and u/s like they recommend and take it one step at a time.

THANKS FOR YOUR INFO.  I GUESS IM JUST A LITTLE SCARED BEING THAT I HAVE HAD 6 MISCARRIAGES IN THE PAST 2 YEARS.  WITH ALL OF MY MISCARRIAGES I HAVE NEVER BEEN ABLE TO SEE ANYTHING ON THE SONO, NOT EVEN THE SAC.  WITH MY TWO OTHER CHILDREN WHO ARE NOW 8 & 12 I WAS ABLE TO SEE THEM WITH MY FIRST SONO.  IM CONFUSED!!!!  I HAVE AN APPOINTMENT TOM. @ 2:00 TO SEE ANOTHER DR., I DONT EXPECT TO SEE THE BABY BUT I AM HOPING THAT I WILL AT LEAST GET SOME BLOOD WORK DONE TO SEE IF MY HCG LEVELS ARE RISING OR NOT.

Ok I have been reading everything on the internet and so far ,my ovulation date was on the 23 of june. I have a cycle of 34 days and usually I am light heavy and light. I was supposed to have started on the 9th of July but i started the 6th of July and when i did start it was  light pink brown black and an ugly dark redish orange. It never got heavy I only had to wear a panty liner for at least six days it was so light i don't know what it is. I took a pregnancy test and it came out neg.Also whats weird about a little less then a week after ovulation i got sick like a body ach and throughing up so the dr took blood and that was negative too.Could i still be pregnant and it be implantation bleeding?

hi everyone,
im a little confused too,my husband and i have been tryng to conceive for over 4 years.( without medical help). We did fall pg in November 2002 but misscarried at 6weeks 2 days. :-(. Weve got to the stage where we were tired of waiting for nature to take its course and went to the doctor for help.
He prescribed clomid 50mg/day cycle days5-9. We have just completed our first course and everything went like textbook!
I got positive ovulation prediction results on c/day 14 + 15,
and baby danced lots!!  7 days later i notice very light red tinge to a clear discharge, that only lasted 2 or 3 hours and went away completely. I was hopefully thinking that it may have been an implantation show, and was thinking very positive.... but then on cycle day 29 i awoke to find Aunt flow had visited.
:-(   I assumed that that was the end of possibilities for cycle one. I visited my doctor as prearrange in the last appt. And he confirmed from blood test results that i had ovulated this month. but because of my period showing that pregnancy had not been acheived.  I did mention the fact that my period was more that 50% lighter than normal but he didnt seem to consider pregnancy a possibility. He told me to start my second cycle of clomid that day ( as i was on cd5). but now i am scared that maybe i am pg and dont know what to do,
can anyone help im going craaaazzzzy!!!

hi, just wanna be a mummy,,,, from one wanna be mummy to another.  ur best bet is to not over stress yourself,,,just let the cards lay on the table, let time tell u and wait and see what happens,,,i am 43 and went through test to see if was going through menopause, and was told no, i also check for ovarian cancer, also a no, i am if i go by my timeline approx. 1 or so pregnant i first a faint positve a while ago and when i went for a blood test 3 weeks ago it came out neg,.....everything and every wonderful feeling of life growing in my body tells yes....i am due if it an af in aug around the 3rd or 6th,,,,the one i had this month was not even a flow at all. i have flutters, and i have the same size belly i did in 85 when i lost the baby due to stress,,,this particular forum u r in can really put u down girl go check out the other one there are alot of women in the group i am in that can really answer u as well be sympathetic to u as well....bleeding during pregnancy is possible there r right now 5 girls just in my neighborhood who bleed for the first 5 months of the pregnancy,,,had neg, test then at five months they got a positive so it can happen,,,,go check out this site http://www.justmommies.com/

Thanks for your response, i do have to stop stressing!! its consuming me! i am so frustrated with the waiting and hoping, its just not fair that all my friends just come of the pill one week and are pg the next month.
Thanks for listening i know my time will come, i just have to be positive and patient.
i will check out the site you recomended, do you know of any others that might have info about clomid while pregnant and whether it can cause deformities??
