irregular periods..pregnancies.. how do i know when to take a pregnancy test

my mental period is extremly irregular. i sued to intake the depo shot for 3 years and stopped doing that. ever since then my period has been even more abnormal..i am trying to concieve..how do i know when to take the pregnancy test? i have already taken one saying negative. but how do i know whether i have taken it to early not knowing when my next period is supposed to be.
help. im confused...
also does it matter which pregnancy test i take??

You should also visit your OB/GYN for an exam and TTC advice prior to beginning to try. You could mention the irregular bleeding at that time, and get professional advice.
