irregular shaped gestational sac

by kiki76, Aug 29, 2007 07:10PM
I am currently 6.5 weeks pregnant with twins. My ultrasound conclusion was that twin 1 looks normal where as twin 2 has an irregular sac with a lower volume than that of twin 1. Both twins however had a heartbeat. twin 1 was 126bpm and twin 2 was 136bpm. I have been told that twin 2 is more than likely to miscarry. Is there any chance that both my babies will survive or is miscarrige of twin 2 unevitable??

Sorry to say, nobody can tell you if miscarriage of twin 2 will even happen or especially if it is inevitable.  It's pretty common for one twin to fade, I hope that isn't what is going to happen for you.

I was told that twin 2 had less volume also, and I carried both full term 8.6 and 8.8.  Carrying twins is very emotional.  There is so much more to worry about.  I hope you won't lose either.  I just said a prayer.  Good luck

With my twins.
At my confirmation ultrasound. Twin B had a signifcantly less amount of fluid surrounding it than Twin A. I also had heavy vaginal bleeding, and was told that i would more than likely miscarry one or both twins.
But i am now almost 34 weeks with healthy 4 1/2 lb girls.

There is no way of knowing, until you just wait until nature runs its course. I worried about absolutely everything at the beginning of my pregnancy. I didnt even feel like i was pregnant til i could feel them moving around. The best thing to do is just take it easy, get lots of rest, and PRAY!
