Yes it might be! I know it's hard but try to wait, i have 11 days to go before i can be tested. It's killing me, but i know i have to wait. Good luck sweetie!
You will have a much more accurate result by day 14. Don't give up yet. You did test pretty early, and that can give you a false negative. Hoping the best for you.
I hope so but I got SOME symptoms boobs sore mostly in the morning then not as bad during the day slight discomfort (normal???), husband thinks boobs are bigger (I don't) feel like AF is coming sometimes not allot but it's there, started getting headaches last night went to bed early woke up middle of the night still pounding and frequent peeing. All that said I read progesterone (shots i still take nightly) cause FALSE pg symptoms...true???
Hi there.. when I did FET I remember that until the 13th day after the transfer I saw a very faint second line, and the next day was a little darker, but yes it is too early for you to see anything, thats why they do the blood test on the 14th day of transfer. The reason why you are feeling your boobs sore and cramping is because of the progesterone shots. It is normal to feel like that. Good luck to you and your husband.
I dont know nething about ivf, but with this pg I got a neg. on the day after af was due, and four days later got a positive. Good luck, I will be praying for you, hope to hear about your bfp next week!!!!!!
if you didn't have hcg shot then you are ok to test
we test 9 days post transfer at my res
and HPTs work soon.
My RE says rest for at least 48 hours, some say 72 hours (my first REs said 24)
I think it is a guessing game for all of them
last pregnancy I had IVF, three days of strict bed rest, then beta on day 10 post transfer was 467
best of luck keep us posted
You know I will not give negative advise however I will give advise based upon MY OWN EXPERIENCE afterall its ADVICE and may or may not hold NO TRUTH. I had IVF (5day transfer) on 3/10 and was to wait til 3/24 to have a test (FRIDAY) On either Tues/Wed night I wiped and there was light pink blood. I was so scared. I called the doctor and they told me to come in for my preg. test on Thurs rathar than Friday. That night I went home bought a cheap CVS brand ept test...in a matter of seconds....it gave me a positive reading...I went in that next day and it was confirmed I was preg! 3 days before! 3 days prior, in my opinion really isn't going to make that much of a difference. I'm lucky...only transfered 1 eggy and it worked. First attempt. I'm 24wk and 1 day today. Good luck.
THANK YOU ALL for answering-Please keep fingers crossed and toes and anything else for me until monday at 10:15AM 8/14th!!!
Projectbaby: I too like your name...for me it wasn't everyday but once or twice a week for blood the sooner your follicles start getting larger the more visits happen. Hope your work sched. is flex they don't give you really a notice and they need to see you in the mornings so the blood can be sent off to get results fast. Again it depends on how quick you respond. The 1st round was VERY different for me. I only had 8 follicles and wasn't able to freeze ANY only 3 for transfer they were OK quality (1=A, 2nd=B-, 3rd=C) But especially my estrogen levels were only in the 400's This time I had 26 follicle (the more the better) and froze 11 transfered again 3 but all A's!!! My estrogen was in the 1000's (where it is suppose to be)Felt NO pain the first round ...this one - was I in for a shock HURT LIKE HELL (recovery)
Hello....I love your nickname!!! I would love to har more about your IVF process... I will be starting this soon and I have soooo mnay questions....I.E. - do you need to go daily for blood testing???? I live 1 hour away from my Dr.!!!
anyway, back to your question... I think you need to wait to test, b/c if you took an hCG shot you will need to wait...Good luck to you and I am hoping that you are preggo as we speak!!! What a great feeling!!! Keep positive!!! Oh, I have a study that was sone with hypnosis and IVF if you are interested... thought it was great!!! again....sticky, sticky, baby dust to you!!!
Thanks for the information... I work in a school that is an hour and a half away from my Dr. so, I guess they will have to be flexible...so I guess I need to let them know ASAP... I also read in a book that IVF is considered a medical condition and you can be on disability... (not sure I would do this-but if it's necessary, then I guess I will)
The study: it's called: Impact of hypnosis during embryo transfer on the outsome of in vitro fertilization-embryo transfer: a cas control study.
--it was in a mag. called Fertility and Sterility , May 2006
My sister who is a Physician Assistant heard about this on CNN and told me to look into it.... so I went on www.google.scholar.com and typed in the title....and there it was...it's only about 5 pages... and to get it I had to pay $30.oo for a copy!!! All in all, it states that hypnosis is a positive thing for IVF...actually one of the sentences clearly states: "A significantly higher pregnancy rate was observed in the hypnosis group compared with the regular ET cycles.".. It also said" We can hypothisize that hypnosis releives the sensation of stress and thereby reduces the uterine cavity and improves the interaction between the embryo and the uterus while increasing the chances of embryo implantation".... that is just a little bit about the article.... ALSO when they talk about hypnosis, they want the patient to "choose a very pleasant life experience to relive during ET."......
I hope this helps a little bit. I thought that this was sooo interesting so I am going to do this starting next week (hypnosis)..... I am an anxious person to begin with, so whatever helps, I am all for it!!!! Good luck to you and I can't wait to hear about yourBFP!!!!!! Jacquie
I just wanted to share my IVF experience and ask a few questions if I could. Did you have a day 3 or a day 5 transfer. Are you on progesterone shots or suppositories and are you on aspirin and folic acid daily. I did IVF twice and the second time I started to spot around the 11th day. I freaked and called the clinic. I was told it was too early to test and that I should wait until at least 13 days post transfer. I got a HPT and it had a paint positive. I must have gone to that bloody pharmacy 10 times and tested another 10 times, all positive. When I went to the clinic, they confirmed it was positive but I had to repeat the test 3 more times before I was told it was o.k. I really don't know but I think it might be too early for you to test. I think the a day 3 vs a day 5 might make a difference. I know it will be hell until Monday but stay hopeful. I hope it all works out for you.
I had a day 3 transfer, progestrone shots , asprin and prenatal vitamin aswell. I have no nails to bite and short of knocking myself out I'm going insane waiting...Oh I'm breaking out on my chin Not usual for me is that the shots or another pg symptom????
That's really interesting I guess it makes sense it calms/relaxes you...hey if it works what the hell. If they told me to stand on my head at 3:00pm every day after transfer guess what haha I'd do it!!!
About 30hrs 'til Dr. appt. but who's counting.....
This is my first time posting on this board......So...........we are 9 days post embryo transfer and I am a nervous, depressed mess. This is our first attempt.........I will be 40 in September, and we have a 5 year old daughter, conceived naturally.......had 19 eggs retrieved; 18 fertilized, and 4 were transferred of grade "a" quality (God - I feel like a hen).....was having some breast tenderness during the first week post-transfer, and it has now completely gone away..........I am fearing the worst..............Does anyone have any experience with the breast tenderness disappearing, and not correlating to a negative preg. test???
Kia Ora (Maori for hello) from NZ I am just three days post transfer. 10 eggs were collected, 9 fertilised, only 2 made it to the transfer the rest fragmented. I am going insane, feeling my boobs as they feel tender which is usually a sign I am getting my period, I also have low grade abdo pain. Is this normal??? I am taking 600mg of Progesterone a day, not by injection, here we are given it as pessaries. This is my one shot at IVF so I am climbing the wall thinking I am pre menstral. Does anyone have any similar experiences?? Please help I need some sleep.
Second, I would like to know if luvbabies did test positive at the doc's office. I hope you did!!! If you didn't, then it's ok. Do not give up hope. I know it is hard. My DH and I have been trying for 2 years (IUIs) and we just had our first IVF with ICSI(test is on Friday). The whole experience has been an emotional rollercoster not to mention expensive!!
Overhere: Your symptoms are perfectly normal. I too had (and still have at 8dpt) breast tenderness, soreness and cramping in my lower abdo(especially when I go to the restroom). I have done lots of research and talked to people that had IVF, and what I have concluded is that everyone has experienced similar symptoms. So, get some sleep and hang in there. I know the 2ww is a long long time but eventually it goes by... Best wishes!!!
Hello. I am on my second IVF cycle (IVF due to male infertilty factor). My first cycle earlier this year, I yielded 5 eggs, 4 of which fractured. I had one to transfer, the quality was mid to low. I was put on the HCG injections, the nurse told me under the table that I could do a home pregnancy test one week after I finished the shots (the blood test was scheduled for two weeks). The home test was positive, as well as the blood test the week after. The baby's heartbeat was a week late to show up, then it disappeared, I was diagnosed with fetal demise and scheduled for a D & C, unfortunatly nature took it's course at 9 weeks, before medicine could. I had my second transfer Aug 23rd, this time I was placed on Estrace pills post transfer and not the HCG injections. The nurse said she didn't know of any particular day that would be advisable under the table to take the home test. I have my blood test 9/5 with results coming back 9/6, I took a home pregancy test yesterday and it was negative. I'm not sure if this will be true for the blood results on Wed, we'll see. I yielded 20 eggs on this transfer, 7 fractured, 1 too immature, 1 too mature and 1 died. Afer the second day in the lab, 8 had fertilized and 2 had arrested. I transfered two high quality and highly cell divided eggs. I am 30.
The waiting game is horrible. And if anyone has been put on the estrogen supplements vs the HCG injections please let me know. I have been an emotional mess....it's not like I am lacking estrogen, so the supplements ontop of what I have normally is makeing me an emotional trainwreck.
Hi, thanks for your words of encouragement. I could not stand it any longer so went to my GP today. I have a urinary tract infection which was causing the lower abdo pain. She said this is quite common in women that have had IVF. Gave me some anitbiotics and said I should feel better in a few days. She also said women should be encouraged to drink about 3 litres of water a day after IVF treatment to reduce the risk of infections in the urinary tract. Breast tenderness, cramping etc are all common symptoms following embryo transfer, so she helped to ease some anxiety. The two week wait is torture, but I am back at work so that helps the time to fly by. All the best to everyone from sunny New Zealand.
Well, my pregnancy test was negative. Insurance feels that a 'transfer' is considered IVF. So if I have the remaining frozen put in I will have exhausted my final attempt. So a fresh cycle is recommended. To pay out of pocket transfer of frozen embryos is about $3,000, vs the higher cost of an IVF cycle. I have contacted another fertility center and thankfully they are able to transfer my frozen embryos. They also feel that my embryos should have been taken to the blastocyte level. So I'll now begin my last journey in the IVF process. I really feel for everyone who goes through this. It is just such an emotional and physical roller coaster.
Hello everyone.... I'm a new member. I need help I had FET on Thursday 8/31 and my blood test is on Monday 9/11. I know I should of waited at least the day before my blood test BUT I DIDN'T, I took a Home pregnancy test yesterday (5dpt) and it was negative.. I'm so devasted... I feel so negative just to think that I'm not pregnant... I know I shouldn't feel like this because their can be hope.... Please tell me what you guys think..... Good Luck to everyone!!!!!!!
I am 4dpt and I have taken a test everyday. Its my second transfer. I know it is too early but I just keep hoping that it will show up. I did the FET on 9/5 and my test is 9/15. I am going crazy....
Chelly 123: I too felt pain on my lower side... I still do. I tested positive yesterday so we are thrilled. This was our first IVF... still cannot believe it. We have a long way to go. Doctor said she would like me to have a blood test every week for a while to make sure my numbers go up the way they are supposed to. Good luck everyone!!
That is great news. I have been worried about it. I did a FET on 9/5. I had a full IVF cycle in July and it was negative. I had cramps the whole time. This time is just a discomfort, not like cramps. Did you take a HPT test before you got your blood test?
Congratulations! That is awesome. Thanks for checking in after your BFP!!!
How many days was your wait? My wait is 10dpt. I had the strangest thing happen. I saw a faint line on two tests but they disapeared immediately. I am only 4dpt. Good to have someone who has a BFP and having the same symptoms as me.
You are lucky... My wait was 14 days post transfer. We had a 3 embryos transferred (fresh) on day 3.
4dpt is too soon to get discouraged. Don't lose faith. It may happen for you too.
Here are couple of other symptoms I had - in case they help:
> at 4dpt I was getting tired. I had to take a nap after work every day.
> BBS were very sore from day 2- could not and cannot sleep on my stomach because they hurt so much
> I had cramping (like AF was coming from day 1!!)
> I had spotting on 9dpt (very faint.. not big spots or anything)
> From day 10 and on I was hungry at strange times of the day. Sometimes I did not feel like eating anything (nothing sounded good!)
> Tummy was and still is kind of bloaded - tough to button pants!!
> I do feel dizzy often... especially when I get up from seating or from laying down (it takes me a while to get my focus... there are black spots everywhere!!!... kind like a head rush!)
That is all I can think of... Please remember that every person experiences different symptoms so yours may be different.
Good luck and let me know how things progress... Keep your head up and most important think positive!
Had second IVF cycle (7 years trying) and have had all treatments in the book. I had my period last week while on holidays with hubby. Nearly flooded Venice. Anyway, took home pregnancy test yesterday and it was positive. Has anyone heard of this before?? I mean it was not spotting- it was very painful and heavy. I had 3 embryo's transferred so I thought maybe one still could have implanted. I want to wish all the best of luck in their endeavours- it it truly a heartfelt and harrowing journey. Great to have a support network though !!
can anyone give me an info. I have my 3rd IVF now.. i have 2 embryo in my tummy and they are 4 days now.. Here in norway, right after they transfered the embryo, the hospital will send u right away home. I said to them that 'why in other countries, they are requested the patient to rest first for min. of 2 hrs or less, but they said that, NO NEED'. They even told me that i have to live norway life, meaning i will do the same activities what i have engaged b4. I didn't succeed on my 1st two ICSI treatment. Now im on my 3rd treatment, im 38 y.o. i dont have child yet. I felt that i have early symptoms, menstral cramps- it's like i will get menstration soon.. I felt at my tummy is (BLOATED all the time) full of air & i have these combination feeling between HUNNGRY & FULL... I cannot sleep well bec. i felt that i will get a period. My breast is swealling too... I felt sometimes that i want to throw up? Have anyone felt same? But if im pregnant, these is very early symtoms.. Please share your experience... Thanks & sorry for my english :)
I am on my 3rd try. This is the first that I have made it to tranfer. Was able to transfer 3 "A" embros. I was told by the embrologist that on day 10 I could get a good result on a HPT. Well its day 11 and I did the HPT this morning. I got a negetive. :-( I have been crying my eyes out for about 4 hour now. I know this can't be good for me. I have not have any spotting at all. Is this a good thing? I am on progesterone injections and estrogen patches. I had 4 days between retreival and transfer. I am having tenderness of the breast and still very bloted. I go back to the Dr for Beta testing on 9/27. Do you think if I stop testing it will help my state of mind? Or should I keep on using the 6 HPT unitl I go to the Dr? I never dreamed this would be this had.......
I am on 3rd IVF cycle, one live cycle and 2 FET. I know that it is very tempting to continue to take HPT, but wouldnt recommend it. I did HPT first time with live cycle, and was thrilled with positive result, only to have my dreams crushed when fist Beta was only 16, and the numbers did not go up like they should have. I was still doing HPT, and they were still positive, so of course hoping for the best, in the back of my mind, I was sure that the numbers would go up, after all, the HPT's were offering me the hope, with bright pink lines every time!!!! To make a long, and dreadfully painful story short, I had to go on methotrxate to disolve the embryo, and the whole time wondered if it was the right thing to do, because "what if" I waited and the numbers finally doubled like they should? In the end, all the HPT did was provide false hope, so I would recommend that you not do any more until the actual blood test.
god morning all, new to this site too. i am due for my beta HCG test this wednesday (09/27), and am a little anxious about it. have been experiencing some of the symptoms being described by some on this site/thread. just a quick question about a pain relief. i am receiving daily progesterone injections, and needless to say, i have a certain area that is becoming a little sensitive. i purchased some of those thermacare disposable heating patches looking to apply them while at work so that the area can be heated over a period of time to maybe soothe it. however, the instructions say to consult a physician. my question is, has anyone out there sought pain releif in this fashion and has it worked?
I too am taking daily progesterone & oil injections and my hips are alittle sore, but not bad at all. Certainly not as bad as the nurse warned me it would be. Here's what I believe has helped us. I use a heating pad on the high setting for about 10 minutes prior to the injection. This helps the oil thin quickly as it enters the muscle. We use the smaller needle too, it takes alittle longer, but it doesn't really hurt at all. Another thing my husband does beforehand is place his hand on the heating pad for a minute or so and then he holds the syringe with the oil in it (also helping the oil to thin.) Maybe instead of heat therapy afterwards, it would be better to try it before the injection and with a smaller needle. Ask your nurse, we had two options and we chose the smaller one. Good luck to you. We had our transfer on Friday 9/22, so not much is happening yet. Just the waiting game. Maybe it's nerves, but I've been wanting to eat everything in sight! Probably boredom too since you're supposed to relax and take it easy. I wanted to get out and play in my perennials, but didn't think I should be doing alot of bending over so I didn't. I have also had alot of lower abdominal pain, on both sides. It reminds me of a pain during one of my pregnancies years ago. (I have an 18 year old and a 14 year old, I am on my 2nd marriage and my husband has no siblings.) ANYWAY, the pain I had experienced was "round ligament pain", it was an intense pulling, muscle cramp kind of pain. I wonder if hormones can trigger these, because nothing has changed from a week ago and they just started the day after the transfer. Sorry to ramble.
hi all! im 21 and just ad ivf i had 2 embros transfered this is my 11day and iv done 2 tests all ready and they negitive did i do them 2 early? does it mean it hasnt worked? i havnt av any spotting yet ?
I guess it depends on your protocol that the doctor provided. Some people take progesterone which can throw off home pregnancy tests. Is that what kind of tests your taking? It should be a blood test at a lab. I was written a prescription for a "quantitative" blood test. I was also told they wouldn't test this until 14 days after the transfer. Be patient and hang in there.
HI EVERYBODY!
WE HAD BEEN TRYING TO GET PREGNANT FOR 7 LONG YEARS.TRIED CLOMID CYCLES FEW TIMES,4 IUI,FINALLY FOUND GOOD DOCTORS THAT KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING--FERTILITY CLINIC CALGARY CANADA--.FOUND OUT THAT I AM TOTALLY FINE BUT MY HUSBAND HAS ANTIBODIES IN HIS SPERM WHICH GIVES US 1% CHANCE TO CONCEVE NORMALY.SO WE WENT THRU 1 CYCLE OF IVF/ICSI(ICSI WAS THE ONLY OPTION WITH OUR PROBLEM).WE WERE ABLE TO GET 17 EGGS-14 FERTILIZED ALL LOOKED GREAT!!BUT THAN,I GOT OHSS(MILD TO SEVERE CASE) WAS SICK FOR COUPLE OF WEEKS.TWO MONTHS AFTER DOCTORS DECIDED TO TRY OUR FIRST EMBRIO TRANSFER WHICH HAPPENED ON SEP12/06 ONLY14 DAYS AGO THEY PUT TWO EMBRIOS IN SO.....WE DID OUR HPT TODAY AND IT IS POSITIVE!!!!!! WE STILL DO NOT BELIVE IT! TOMORROW WE GO FOR THE BLOODWORK WHICH WILL GIVE US THE RIGHT RESULT
WE CAN NOT BELIVE THIS IS HAPPENING TO US!!!
This is my 2nd IVF cycle first cycle had 2 embyos at blast transfered and first blood work was positive My husband and I were thrilled never the less my daughter was so excited she said that she has been praying all her life she's only 8. Only to find out 2 days later that second blood test was a dream crusher hormones had not doubled like they were suppose to my daughter was devastated never the less I had to console her. Now I'm on my second cycle and my daughter doesn't know anything I pray to god that I may give her great news this weekend I had 3 day transfer 4 embies were put back and I have had all types of pg symptoms I keep thinking it's all in my mind I go for my pr test tomorrow 9-28 I can't wait have been a nerve rec. Please guys pray for me I have u all in my prayers.
just an FYI to all, had the blood test yesterday, and it was negative. we, my husband and i, had previously discussed that we would only do 2 IVF cycles, and with the first having failed, we will now gear up for a final attempt. we have one beautiful daughter, now 4, and having lost all faith at this point, i have concluded that if people have more than one child they are both lucky and that with every additional sibling they attempt to achieve perfection. however, if you all could know my daughter, to be slighted with love, we achieved perfection on the first try. with each failure, we at least have our daughter to come home to, and that is never looked upon as any small thing. if it is in the stars for us to have no more than one, we have truly been blessed. good luck to all, and we're back in that boat with you.
Hi everyone again,

hi. I did a 3dt. of 2 embyos. Today is 9dpt and i have had some spotting. did an hpt. and it was neg. anybody have a similar experience and still get a positive beta. i am due to take the beta in 2 days.
shari
I too went through IVF. The retrieved 12 eggs, 9 fertilized and we inserted the 3 that made it. All three implanted but we lost one and our now 9w4d pregnant with twins. That was our first attempt. We did a 5 days transfer and were not allowed to test until 14 days after transfer.
We did a 5day transfer of 2 embies, and I had a blood test at 8 days post transfer (would be comparable to day 11 for you because you had 3day embies). It was negative. But I was actually pregnant with twins. So in answer to your question, yes it is still possible for you to get a positive. Once sperm meets egg and everyone is in the uterus, the embryos can float around dividing and having fun and not implant for quite a while if they feel like it, and even after they implant, it takes 2 days for the hCG to show up in your blood. That's why so many clinics won't test you until day 14 post retrieval. Don't give up, it might all be coming along just as you hope.
Hello Everyone,
Never knew forums like these were available. We had IVF on saturday. I've been resting doing the least possible.. so excited, but very nervous. I wish I could fall asleep and not wake up until next week day of pregnancy test. That's all I think of. Good luck to everyone. God Bless.
I have one embyo transferred on July 30 and had a pregnancy test done today(8/9/07) I should get my results anytime now. I done a urine pregnancy at home but it showed negative. I sure hope that it was wrong. I just can not wait for the doctor's office to call me.
I hope I can provide hope for y'all. I did a FET on July 31 and took a hpt 6 days later and it was positive. I just got my beta today (9dpt) and it was 191. We only transferred 1 frozen 5-day embryo and it took. Last year, I also got pregnant with FET on my first try. Good luck to all and keep hoping! It will happen!
You should be having your beta blood test soon. Wanted to wish you lots of luck! I had my follow up beta test today and they needed it to double from 191 and it trippled to 587. I'm very relieved!
Does that mean you you might have multiples? My appointment is this coming thursday, but I think i'll take an hpt on tues.
My husband does not want me to, he says to just wait but i'm dying to know. I had a fresh transfer. First try, i did not have enough embryos to freeze. We transferred 4 but only 3 were good quality. I'm very excited because I have been hearing many success stories with the first try. Thanks for writting me i was excited to see a message from someone. I will keep you posted when i find out.
Hi there! I'm so sorry I haven't been online to answer your question. 2 lines of any color means you're pregnant! I'm so excited for you! Let me know how your appointment went.
The likelihood that I'm having twins is very small considering I only transferred one embryo. Unless it split...
You know when I wrote the coment about the twins I had totally forgotten than you had only one embryo transferred SORRY!! Anyway I took 1 test monday, 2 on tues, and 1 on wednesday. Crazy I know. I went to my appointment today and thank God i'm pregnant. I am soooooo happy I can't even describe how I feel. My beta was 195. My nurse said i'ts a very good number. Thank you for writting back. How are you feeling? Do you still feel bloated? I do? Still getting some mild cramping. Personal question. You don't have to answere if you don't want to. How old are you? Do you live in California? I do. I'm 31 years old.
hey i read ur forum i have the same thing no spoting just cramping, i did the transfer on the 5 of august i did a preg. test today-negative!. i have my blood test monday comming up. im so worried.
please let me know if the no spoting is good or bad or if i did the preg test to early
I'm 30 and live in Dallas. I don't have the bloated feeling or anything b/c I did a frozen transfer. It's a wonderful thing not going through all the stimulation and egg retrieval again. I'm so happy for you that you're pregnant. That's an excellent beta. Our sonogram is scheduled for not this coming Wednesday but the next. I can't wait to see the little heart beat. It's the best feeling in the whole world!
Keep me posted on your news. It's great having someone to share the experience with. I actually never posted to one of these - even when I went through it last year.
Hi,
I hope your doing well. Did you have your first ultrasound yet? I had my follow up beta today and thank God it went from 195 to 603. My estrogen and progesterone levels went down a little, but my nurse told me not to worry that it sometimes fluctuates. They adjusted my meds so I hope everyhting will be fine. She said the most important number to worry about is the hcg and that mine looks good. I go back on friday for another beta test so i'll keep you posted. Have a great week.
Very happy for you! Were you taking any HCG injections after the embryo transfer? I did, and they say it can affect the numbers. I did my first beta today (waiting the results!), and they said if it's positive, it could be a false positive (due to the HCG shots post transfer). I'd go back in 3 days to confirm. With the HCG shots wearing off, the numbers should go much higher. Pins and needles....
Hi there,
You know I did not take HCG injections after transfer. I only take progesterone and estrogen injection, also do vaginal progesterone capsules. I took my first pregnancy test on day 9 post transfer and I was worried that it might have been the hcg injection I did before the transfer. I think that it can defenitely affect the results, but please don't loose hope. Why are you taking hcg injections whats the point of that? What was your beta result? Good luck!!!
Hi there - and thanks!
Our doc said doing HCG injections post transfer is a new procedure, and has shown promise in helping the success rates. The technology is changing so fast surrounding IVF. The downside is that it can cause a 'false positive', which needs to be confirmed a few days later with another test. So more waiting! The first test was a 'postive' 150. And now we have to wait until Friday.... I hate the waiting! :)
Hey Everyone! I'm new to this chatting process and I find it very compelling. I've read most of the postings back to August 2006 and can identify with mostly everything that has been communicated. Ok here's my story. I am 41y.o and am going through my 2nd IVF cycle. The first time was unsuccessful (5 embryos transferred). For this 2nd cycle, I had 6 three-day embryos transferred on August 20th and my HCG test is scheduled for August 31st (day 11). I too have minor pains in my abdomen and right side, and some breast tenderness. I am also very sensitive emotionally. I haven't experienced any bleeding at all (no pink or red). I was kinda hoping to see some because that sometimes is an indication of implantation taking place. I want this to be successful so badly. Please keep us in your prayers.
Hello,
Don't worry about the bleeding. I had no bleeding at all and I am pregnant. A little brown discharge only. The breast tenderness can be because of the medications. Good luck.
I just had my 2nd beta hcg test and it was at 705 but I don't think I have any real symptoms except right now I have a nasty sinus infection. I just credited my sore boobs and fatigue to the estrogen/progesterone. I've been posting on the fertility board. I was wondering when does a person's preg symptoms really kick in ( like at which level)?
I have search but can't get answers!! i ovulated on the 4th, i had egg transfer on the 10th august (ivf)
and ws due to have bloodtest on the 21st but before period due i got light period, just on my nikers, and then only when i went to tiolet and wiped, lasted from 16th-18th then just stopped, bloodtest on the 21st NEG, but yet i still have backache, headache, nasea, and no bleeding or cramps as i ussully have, i rang my dr today and she said to have another test done, but im inclinded to wait to see if period cames, as ivf is hard enothe get neg results, i was just look for someone oppinion, ao maybe you have had the same and may got good results???/
then if i had implant bleeding how long after that would i get positive result?
If was implant bleeding?? Normally my period is very heavy first 2days, i do feel like im having symtoms, but scared there all in my head, plz help....graham.***@**** Had 2nd bloodtest 2day but didnt phone for results too scared.
Thanks 'littleones3' for your comments and encouragement.
To everyone out there - Is anyone experiencing an increase in body temperature? I have been feeling very warm. Could that be from the meds or is that a good sign? I'm on estrace (pill), prometrium (suppository), prenatal vitamin and baby aspirin. HCG test in 2 more days.
I am 41 had a two embryos transfer 13 days ago and am taking my pregnantcy test tomorrow. I did not take asprin due to an ulcer how much of an affect does that have on success? The eggs were grade b with my age and a past sexually transmited disease in my teens what is my chance for success? I have never been pregnant.
I know very little about an std - what did your re say? I'm glad that you didn't take an aspirin because it can interfere w/implantation (well that again what my dh (a pharmacist) and re say). Did you use your own eggs? On my 1st IVF, I tried w/my own and failed (I was 43 then) and this time we had either to choose a donor , surrogate, or adopt & because my uterus is still in fairly good shape, we did donor eggs. Good luck on your test tomorrow. I go for my 3rd hcg tomorrow & for some reason very nervous.....
I used my own eggs. I had good results today my test came back positive my level was 839 and my progesterine was low around 38. I take two more pregnantcy test next week they want 3 positives.
Any news? I think everyone would agree the the 2ww is the worst of the entire treatment. I am hopeless having already tried testing at home and I know that it's way too early. Reading these messages confirms one thing, we are all experiencing similar physical and emotional stuff and it's really only ourselves who understand. God bless my husband, but no idea really. I am older than all of you 46 (!) but with this 2nd cycle produced 5 eggies. By day 5 (morula) 2 'a" grade and 1 slow learner : ) In the end, the 'best' one was used for transfer, the others were not developed enough to freeze. Due for HCG test on the 10th. Keep calm and hopeful and know that you have friends and family to support you and your dearest wish.
Good luck on the 10th. I have to wait until the 8th for mine, athough I did a HPT which produced a negative result. I transfered 2 frozen, which were not of great quality. I am hoping that I tested to soon, but I think I am setting myself up again for the pain of hearing the truth on Friday. Hope is all I can hold on to right now. Out of 7 frozen only these two survived, so we would have to go back to a fresh cycle which will be mostly out of pocket and we need icsi.
HI, My First IVF cycle, had transfer on 9/1/07. Only sunday and Monday I felt bad, Today I am feeling perfectly fine, NO dizziness, no soar bb, just little bloating. I have no symptoms, its making me feel that I don't even want to go for testing ....:(
Oooh I will be crossing my fingers and toes for you. Like you I have done HPT 's - neg. My husband and mum are still hopeful and are begging me to be the same. It's hard when you do the test and there is no second pink line no matter how hard you try to visualise it there. I also would have to go back to start a fresh cycle as we have no frozen embys either. Hang in there nalla, let us know what happens. We are all in the same boat : ) All good fun! Take care of yourself MA_MOM : )
I had FET on 8\31 with 2 grade AA blastocyst. Has anyone done a frozen cycle with out the hcg injection prior to the transfer? When whould you do a hpt?
Hi all, might be a bit too soon 'canela997' but I know exactly the temptation you are feeling. I think you need to wait at least a full week if not a bit longer. I should take my own advice I wasted $50.00 on testing too early! Remember, all the IVF meds can have an effect on the results of a HPT...and who wants that kind of excitment followed by disappointment. Make sure you get a test that is of the highest sensitivity possible when you test so early. 'wanting more', great stuff on 2 grade AA's! Wishing you all the best.
Hello All, Had FET w/assisted hatching on 8/25. Transferred 4 grade "A'. Due to have beta HCG on 9/10. Can I do a HPT on 9/8 since that's the actual 14ptd. Taking progestrone injection, prometruim suppositories, and estrace. Have had mild cramping and lower back pain. What y'all think.....Anxious in NC.
my blood test is this coming Monday. I have been pregnant b4 (miscarriage) and do not have the signs of early preg. All five tests I have done (last one was Weds) were neg, so I am prepared (if ever you can really be) for Monday's result, if not happy about it. : ( I did my best, so did my Clinic and the Hosp. No one's fault. As to your question, I have heard of that happening...but it was a friend who had a natural conception.
I would! Couldn't stop me : ) Best of luck. You are doing gr8 so far! Any one else on Crinone suppositories...yuk! No problem last cycle but this time caused irritation and other effects. Put-up-with-able but unpleasant...worse the the injection, I think!
you will not try a third time (third time lucky?)? I guess one has to draw the line at some point. I don't know what the cost is in the US (is that where u r?) but here (in Australia) a large amount of the cost is covered by our government medicare system and our private health fund. Our out of pocket cost is about $700. I am wishing you all the very best, Canela997. Let us know how it goes.
This 2 week wait is killing me. It seems to be all I can think about. I am trying to stay busy, but it's not working. I had FET on 8/31, and I did not receive an injection of hcg prior to transfer because it was a frozen cycle and not required. I took a hpt 7dpt and got a neg result. Hoping that it is just to soon and not an accurate result. Any one else with a frozen cycle without the hcg injection.
I too had a FET on 8/30 w/no hcg injections. I did a hpt today and got a neg also. I am still hoping that the embryos didn't implant right away and thats why I keep getting a neg. I've been having a slight case of nausea (not every day) and tender breasts. Not sure if I'm having these sysmptoms because I so want to be pregnant. My first ivf was a neg and I also had the tender breasts but no nausea. I will be going for my first blood test tomorrow and the second on Monday. Good luck.
Yes, I am in the US. I have paid out about 20-24 thousand dollars for my first ivf and fet. I had to use a egg donor. Here the only thing that was covered was medicine, but I still had to pay my deductible. I wish it was only $700 here, I would keep trying. I've heard of people that have spent 100k here. Right now we say that we don't want to try again, but who knows. Did another hpt today and came out neg, still have hope. Will not do another hpt, will just wait until I go to the doctor.
Thanks for the comments. It makes me feel better to know that there is someone else out there in the same boat. How many embryos did you transfer and at what grade/stage. I had 2 blastocyst grade AA. My first ivf cycle was 3 yrs. ago and they transfered 2 8 cell embryos with one resulting in a pregnancy. He is a great little fellow, and my husband and I are hoping to add another. I think the fresh cycle 2ww was a little easier. I took hpt 7dpt and got a faint pos. I knew that I had taken the hcg injection, but the positive result sure made me feel better and the time to go by faster. I have to wait until next Fri. to take bld test. I am sure it will be a long week. I am also hoping that the neg result is because they don't implant right away some sites say it takes 2 -6 days. Hoping for the best.
I had three blastocyst grade A transfered. I'm wondering why most people on this site say that there blood tests are a 2 week wait. Mine is only 11 days. Are you in the US?
Yes, I am in the US. I had to wait 2 wks both times. It is by far the longest 2weeks. They give us a grade of AA one being for the outer part of the embryo and the other for the inner cellular mass. Three blastocyst sounds great! Everything I have read says they have a higher pregnancy rate. I hope that is the case for both of us!
OOOh the cost is prohibitive over there! I guess that IVf is chiefly the option for wealthier couples, not everyone. Having said that, I see only middle class couples at my clinic. I guess the waiting time varies because of differing emby development and hormone levels?
I am sorry your HPT came back neg. It is devestating. My beta came back 7 which technically means that the embryo implanted, but it will more then likely be a chemical pregancy. My Dr said that have seen numbers as low as 6 go to full term, so I am hopful, but prepared for the worst. They said because it was a FET it may have twken longer to attach. I wonder if they are just telling me that. I did another HPT this morning and it was negative. Of course with numbers that low, of course it would be. I was just hoping they would have jumped to over 100. Keeping my fingers crossed, for you as well.
Hope you are going along well. No luck this time for me. Question is do we try for a third time. I wonder if stats are any indication of third time lucky???? Take care all
I wish i could post good news, but the test yesterday was negative. I think we will try one more time as soon as we figure out the finances.
it_only_takes_one - so sorry to hear about your results. If it helps at all, I know several people where 3 was teir lucky number. One ended up with triplets! Good luck to you all.
Doctor said I should not try again. I have many fibroids and he said this is why I did not concieve. It was just not meant to be. I do have three daughters from a previous marriage but my current husband does not have kids. I had a tubal with my last child. Thankfully my husband is not desperate to have a child and he is okay if we do not have one.
I have seen many women have healthy beautiful babies with fibroids. Are they inside your uterus or out. I had a lady deliver yesterday with a large fibroid on the anterior exterior uterus. I also have 3 children from a previous marriage with a btl after the third. I re-married and my husband did not have children. Our first ivf attempt gave us a beautiful little boy. We were hoping to have another with this frozen cycle. I took another hpt on Mon. with neg result. My blood test is Fri. Just counting down the days. Get another opinion if another child is really what you desire. God Bless!
Number three can be your lucky number. Try to find way you were not able to conceive. Have you ever been pregnant before? I had a friend that had several attempts at ivf unsuccessful until they discovered she had a clotting problem. Once she fixed that she got preg. with triplets and then one without ivf. She had to take lovenox inj. throughout her preg. Wishing you all the best!
I'm sorry I haven't been on-line lately. I had the blood test on Friday, August 31 and it was negative. Of course I was devastated. We will start the cycle for the 3rd time. Health insurance allows six tries. Stimulation begins on 9/287/07. My doctor said he's going to do ICSI and assisted hatching this time. I'm going to ask about day 5 transfer instead of day 3. Thanks for your encouragement. I'm glad I have others who truely can empathize with me. I'm happy for all who have had success with this.
I'm sorry about your bad news. It hurts really badly, I know. I too am trying again. This will be my third cycle. I'll be praying for you. Please keep me posted. Right now, I'm on the birth control patch. I have such a hard time with birth control. I get so sick. Lupron starts on 9/24/07 and stimulation on 9/28/07, using Gonal-F and Menopur. Dr. plans to do ICSI and assisted hatching. What's your Doc's plan?
I am a very proud mom of one and just finished my third round of IVF. I go in one week for pregnancy test. I was just wondering if there was anyone out there that can relate, I am going insane
i too have a beautiful baby girl at home that i am trying to give a brother or sister to.... went for a frozen transfer last tuesday and now go back on thursday for the preg test
feel like i am going to get my period any minute, but know that the drugs can make you feel that way even if you're pregnant. i am trying not to make myself crazy, as i know that it won't change anything....kinda wish there was something that was supposed to happen either way so that you had an idea what the deal was.... i thought this time that the nerves would be easier since i already have a child, but it really is not any easier when you really want a child.
i hope that we are both blessed with another.
good luck to you.
This is my 2nd IVF cycle. First one with 2 embies, not good quality, so falied 1st cycle. Current cycle with 3 balstocysts transferred, performed HPT 8th DPT with evening urine that too after drinking a lot of water. Got a negative test, waiting for 3 more days for the official pregnancy test.
Hope2Bpositive
i got prego on my 2nd ivf cycle. Funny, but the waiting is the worst part of the entire ivf process. Your mind goes wild and you run through scenarios of what will be if you are or aren't prego.
Try and stay busy, although it's easier said than done.
good luck to you.
thanks i feel like i need it
they transfed 2
i have been soo tempted to buy a pregnancy test today, but chickened out. i may as well just wait for the real results tomorrow. it will surely be a long day until they call with those results !
I am hoping that you got great results. This whole ordeal is almost inhumane, when you thing about all the emotional torture. The needles are the easiest part, you are in my thoughts:)
Mine is not a good news. The HCG level came as 2.91. It means one of them implanted but further failed to grow. Although I have been told to follow-up again on monday. I hope things come out good for you. I shall pray for you. All the best.
I am so sorry. Let me know what happens at the follow up appt. I will keep you in my prayers. I wish I had some magic words for you. I know the heartbreak, I really do. Hang in there
Thanks for your wishes. Although I know it will not work out for me this time. I'm looking forward for my 3rd try. How did you conceive your first child, natural or IVF?
My little girl was through IVF. I know how frustrating all of this is. I remember before we even knew there was a problem, month after month the period would come. I don't think there is anything out there that can compare to the emotional ride trying to become a mother puts you on. If I can be of any help let me know, even if you just want to vent. All I can really say is unless a doctor tells you it cannot happen, keep the faith and keep trucking. I don't know where you are at, but I did recently hear of a couple places that guarantee you a pregnancy within 3 tries or your money back. I know how sick that sounds but the cost to become a mommy can get outrageous.
I do indeed have some good news to share. I do have good news.
I was very doubtful that this FET cycle would work, but I guess someone was smiling down at me.
I wish you all success in your baby making endeavors. I hope that you get a positive too.
I will check in next week.
All you have to go through is soo worth it & then some if you get the positive result. That is what kept me going.
Thanks for your note. I feel better after the weekend. All the best for your test, this week. By the way I am in Missouri. Let me know about the centers you were talking about.
Well...I got my results, sort of. Apparently I am at 11, which is low but not hopeless and I have to go back on Wednesday for another blood test. I cannot believe the torture.
All the best. Well, 11 is not that low. The embryo might do good in sometime. My HCG, as expected went down, so I can start looking for a fresh cycle. All the best again, I hope it works for you. Wanted to aks you something more. This was my 2nd try, my doctor is saying that the third try will be the final. I don't understand why, although I did quite well on my 2nd try, 23 eggs, 15 fertilized with 4 blastocyts, and the transfer was performed on day 5 with 3 embroys. What's the policy on your center. You can answer whenever and if you feel like.
You'll be in my prays for a higher level of HCG on wednesday. I really hope it works.
At my place, they never really set a limit, I think that is all dependent on the issue at hand. This last transfer was 2 embryos on the 5th day. On the day of the transfer when my doc told me there were four embryos (all of good quality), I asked that 3 be put it, he said no because he was so sure this was going to take. The two embryos left did not make it through the freezing process, which breaks my hear. I am becoming skeptical on this whole 5 day transfer. I know they have all the knowledge and everything. I guess I feel like with my daughter they did three embryos at three days, if it works why mess with it. I just feel numb right now, if its negative, why not just a straight negative, seems like more torture to drag it on.
That center I heard of is the Advanced Fertility Center of Chicago, apparently there are quite a few out there though.
All we can do now is pray. You said that you are looking for a fresh cycle, does that mean in a few weeks you'll be trying again?
My doctors have told me to wait for a month before trying for fresh cycle, since I had chemical pregnancy. They are now planing to shift the next cycle for december-january since the transfer for the cycle starting end of november was falling during the time when they would have christmas break. I hope you don't mind, let me know in which state you are, I am looking at changing my fertility center. As I am already down, on top of that they told me to stop after 3rd cycle.
Hello. I was reading your conversation with maksmommy and wanted to suggest that you ask your doctors for very specific information on why they are telling you to stop after 3 tries. I've never heard of a treatment center putting a 3-try cap on anyone. In fact, the center I am with (in Maryland) has a program where you pay for 6 cycles and, if you are unsuccessful in 6 tries, you get your money back. There are certain criteria for being eligible for that program, but I raise it here as support that a 3-try cap should be questioned.
My health insurance covers 3 tries and, if any of the 3 are successful, you get another 3 tries.
I wish you the best and I am believing with you that you will conceive, bare and deliver health babies.
I am on the 3rd cycle. The first two were unsuccessful and, even though the stats say it is a low chance that I'll conceive because I am 41 years old, I have faith that I will. Please be in prayer with me and I will be praying for you as well.
I am in Michigan. I agree with abraham&sarah, you should really get some answers as to why they are only willing to do three tries. With all the places out there now offering the money back, maybe we should start exploring those centers. Hang in there.
Yes that's right. The stats don't have the final say. I'm standing on faith in God's Word. Please let me know what the docs say and know that they do not have the final say either.
HI
Am new to Forum - am in England - and am 12 days into my transfer - donor cycle.
Am experiencing sore breasts but not swollen and am having light cramping - which happened
on day 2 and 3 - then nothing until day 9 & 10 and now tonight on day 12... Not really heavy cramping but that annoying kind ...
Have another 2 days to wait to do home preg test. Am trying to stay positive. Anyone out there
had my kind of cramping and got a positive result?
Thanks for the support guys. Well, today I clarified things with my doctor, they want me use donor eggs after my 3rd cycle.I wonder why they're suggesting this. My first cycle was bad since 9 eggs were retreived, some were immature, some were over mature so just 2 fertilized, but the second cycle was good with 15/23 being fertilzed and 4 progressing to blastocyst stage. After showing them the resentment they agreed to use my own eggs for future cycles.
I think the main thought behind this, is the success rate of the center, which appears on the CDC website.
Best of luck to you, maksmommy for tomorrow's test. I really hope you HCG rises to a high level.
yes ! I recently did a FET cycle and had cramping. I was convinced that it did not work.
I was very pleasantly surprised when I got the call from the nurse telling me that I was indeed pregnant. Keep faith that it worked !
Good luck !
Good News. I can say that I am pregnant but not out of the woods. My number went from 11 to 27, I go back on Friday and it needs to be 54, keep praying, thank you all for keeping me sane:)
That is good news!!! Yayee!! God is awesome. Keep believing and thinking positively. Believe that you are NOT in the woods at all. Speak life to your baby in the womb. I'm so happy for you.
Hi. I just got the news that my level was 12 and I need to go back on Friday. The doctor's told me that I was pregnant but the levels were really low. What's weird is that I took a home pregnancy test and Tues. night I saw a very faint line, and Wed. morning it was completely negative. I had my blood test done this morning. One thing that is interesting is that my doctor does the blood test 12 days after the transfer. From what I'm reading it seems like 14 is a more realistic number. I'm praying that on Friday the numbers are higher. Does anyone know if the numbers get higher, than you are more likely not to have a miscarriage and have a full term pregnancy? This three week period has been really hard for me and I'm happy to have found this forum.
Thanks
I read your comment to hope2Bpositive, I just wanted to share that I am about two steps ahead of where you are right now. My first test, my level was an 11, the doctor was not very optimistic, but I still had faith. I went today and my levels were 27, although they wanted to see a 30. I am still not out of the woods, but I go back on Friday and they have assured me that as long as my levels double, the baby is fine and that there is no extra worries, it just took longer for my body to adapt to. Hang in there!!
Thanks for rooting me on. This was my third cycle, so two fresh and one frozen. The fresh cycles worked and the frozen did not. Lets all keep praying for each other. I am so glad that I found this site. My first time around there was nothing like this to keep me going:)
Thanks for the encouragement. I believe as long as I stay positive, this little one inside of me will survive. I keep talking to him/her, trying to hold back my tears. I want this so badly and am so close. I will keep positive thinking and praying for all of us that have had to undergo this heartache.
congratulations ! -
keep the faith that all will proceed as it should. Take care of yourself these days and give thanks for your good news and pray that a bundle will be coming your way in the spring.
Thank you for the congratulations too. I go back tomorrow for my follow-up blood work to make sure that all is going as it should. I am hoping so.
I was soo shocked when they told me that I was pregnant, that I did not ask what my numbers were.
I am trying to stay optimistic until I get a reason not to be. If all goes well tomorrow, the real fun will be the following week, when we find out if there's more than one little blessing growing inside me .....
This forum has been a great way to "talk" and air your concerns with others who are in the same boat as you are. When you are anxiously waiting on news that will change your life, it's helpful to know that there are soo many others that are feeling the same way that you are. Sometimes, you can feel that no one around you can understand what you are really going through, since they have not walked in your shoes.
Good luck to all of you trying. I hope everyone get's their dream baby/babies !
I believe that there's a recent issue (within the last 6 months) of parenting magazine that listed the fertility centers that were rated the best in the country. Sometimes it's good to go for a second opinion or switch centers if you don't get results. I am in NY and chose NYU as my center and was extremely happy with my results and how I was treated throughout the entire process.
It made the list as one of the country's best. I was hesitant to talk about what we were going through when we started this process. After I got pregnant, and we started to tell friends, we found out that so many other people had either gone though the same thing or had a family member go through it. We found out who went where and if they were happy with the results.
If you are not opposed to having people know that you are going to go through the IVF process, sometimes it's helpful to talk with friends and family about it, you may get some helpful information.
Good luck to all.
I hope everyone gets good news.
All I know is that IVF babies are probably the luckiest babies of all. They are soo wanted and loved from the moment that they are conceived.
Congratulations! A lot of good news today. Well, 12 is a good number. The embryo must be doing its work, it must be pushing more and more HCG into your blood, so by friday, you should have a good result. There were a lot of good news this week, stay optimistic and your hCG level will bounce up. As you mentioned about the association between miscarriage and the hCG number, I don't know if any exists. I think the embryo might have implanted late, so the hCG came late in the blood.
Congratulations and all the best again
I just did a 5d transfer and today is my second day post op I am having just a littlle cramping today and i am so nervous about everything. I had 35 eggs 33 were mature and 28 fertilized. they froze 20 of my embroyos I am so scared I really hope this works
Thank you for your prayers. I will most likely have the retrieval on October 12th. I'm not sure if my doc will do a day-3 transfer or day-5. Congrats again.
I forgot to mention that this is my firts time writing and I wanted to say that everyone you are very strong women and am so glad that i found this website
I really thank you for your support. I'm praying that your numbers go up as well on Friday. I had a slight set back tonight and I'm not sure if I should wait until tomorrow or go to the hospital. I had really bad cramps aroudn 6pm and then at 9 when I got home, I was bleedy kind of bad. Maybe like a period, then it stopped. I don't know if anyone knows if this is common. I don't know how that could happen when they told me yesterday that I was pregnant. This is very upsetting. I'm trying to stay relaxed. I'm happy to have found this site as well.
Yes! go to the hospital! any bleeding during pregnancy- no matter how far along should be checked out. Even if pg was just detected. Best of luck and keep us posted!
i was curious at your case.my beta HCG (10 days after ET) was 124 (sept27), which might be false positive due to pregnyl injection (4 days ago) then, 14days after became 10mIU/ml (oct1). Doc's secretary emailed me and told me that i am not pregnant. I did not test again as I believe the cramping and the bleeding from sept29-30 was my period.. and that it would only add depression. What happened to you? how are you?
I hope you're better now. Well, you should probably go to the hospital to get your self checked. Early pregnancy bleeding is common. I hope your HCG number keeps on rising and you get a good result tomorrow.
My wife and I had a Fresh embryo transfer on 10/1/07. We had two Great(grade a) embryos transfered on day three through ICSI. The problem has been my levels. THey keep stating my wife's uterus looks great and they would be shocked that she would not get pregnant. She is 26. WE have been trying for 3 1/2 years. My wife feels bloated, says mainly at night. She is going to the bathroom pretty often. But, this waiting period is hard, it has not even been one week, and they said symptoms may not start(if any) till at least one week. I give her a progesterone shot every morning. We have a doctor visit monday to check out her blood, what is this telling since it is only one week later? Her actual pregnancy test is not till 10/15/07, so what is this first test for?
That first blood test is to check her levels of the medication she is currently on. My husband and I are on our third round of IVF. The first time, three fresh on day 3, we now have a beautiful baby girl. The shots and everything else are worth it. We did our frozen embryo last year and it did not work, heartbreaking. Now we finished a fresh cycle and are waiting for my hcg levels to go up. Hang in there. The hardst part is the waiting, wondering if you are really feeling something or is it your mind playing tricks on you. You'll be in my prayers, this is a very tough journey for a couple. My husband had the issue as well, my doc said that it is easier when it is the man than the woman.
That is what our doctor said about it being my problem rather than my wife. I rather have that since all her tests(including surgery), showed nothing wrong with her. Today is barely day 5 after transfer, so still got a while, but thanks for the help and support.
Good to hear that. I shall start a fresh cycle november end, so looking forward for that. Can I ask you, how many eggs did you have in your last cycle and how many fertilized....
I will go for retrieval tomorrow morning. The sono shows 5 follicles on the left and 9 on the right side. Estradiol is 5692 and Hcg is 109. My doctor plans to do ICSI and Assisted Hatching (using laser). Please keep us in your prayers and thank you for your support.
This is my first attempt to a chat forum. I am beginning to lost hope of ever getting pregnant. I have had one successful IVF cycle (w/TESE) that resulted in a miscarriage - in 2005. I have attempted several more cycles that have all failed due to lack of egg production. I am 33 years old and desparately want a child. I just started my Luprom, Gonal-F & Menopur on Saturday. I am interested to hear about what protocols everyone else is using. My E2 always looks good, but for some reason I am not reacting to the drugs. My doctor said there are no other drugs available to use. I am desparate for information.
The drugs used on me were Lupron, Folistin and Menupor. My response was good but my last IVF falied. Well, maybe a second opinion from another doctor maybe helpful in your case
anniebrook
thank you so much for the encouragement
I have been worried about my numbers (9day post transfer was 27) you have givin me hope
whats your situation now?
I had my third sono this morning and learned that my follicles are not growing consistently. On one ovary, I hardly had any follicles and on the other ovary I had 2 large follicles and 4 small follicles. My doctor informed me that there is nothing else he can do, he recommended that I conside using a donor. I don't think I am quite ready to give up, I think a second opinion is in order. Has anyone else experienced issues with ovary stimulation? Each cycle I have attempted has had different results.
Very sad to learn that your numbers dropped. This is very heartbreaking, I know how it feels. I hope you're taking this bravely. There's always a next time. Don't loose hope.
I'm saddened to learn of the terrible news. It is indeed a heartbreaking situation. It is difficult to understand why some folks have to go through such agony with conception and baring of children. The good news is that we do get through it in time. I'm praying that you will find strength and comfort during this time. Do you know yet what the plan is for next steps?
I hope everyone is doing well despite our challenges.
Well, 21 eggs were retrieved on Thursday, October 11th - 20 eggs were fertilized via ICSI. By Sunday, 14 eggs were still progressing fine and 6 were transferred. The doctor says they were all very good quality (2s and 3s). The other 8 are still in the lab and those that survive will be cryopreserved. We are praying for good, solid attachment to my uterine wall. I go for a blood test on Oct. 26th. Please keep us in your prayers.
Hello, I'm new to the sight. I've just has my 6th ivf.(3 IVF & 3 Donor IVF & 1 IUI) The Drs say there is nothing wrong with me!! What do I do? I'm enduring me 2ww right now with one week to go. I did a HPT today(can't help myself) and it was neg. It was a 5 day transfer. Last time (#5) I tested pos 4 days after transfer but 8 days ater that I had severe cramping and sweating (couldn't even stand up). I went in for Beta, it was 70 then 2 days later it was 12. I'm a wreck!!!!
Good to know that you had 14 embryos and had 6 good quality embryos transferred. I hope this cycle will be a successful cycle for you. Relax and don't stress out in the coming days. I wish you all the good luck.
Thank you for your well wishes. I am definitely trying to remain calm and at peace. I believe it will be successful this time. It's gotta be!!!!!! I've been reading a book entitled Prayers and Promises for Supernatural Childbirth by Jackie Mize. It has helped me so much. It doesn't address the IVF process but rather the will of God for his children to be fruitful and multiply.
I am praying that your next cycle will be a success as well. November's end will be here before you know it.
Hope you're doing great, trying to keep away the tension, although I know its hard not to think what will happen!! Yes, time goes quickly, I am looking forward to November end for my next cycle.
Did you get lucky in freezing some of your embryos?
On October 11, 2007 i had my embryo transfer. I have to wait until the 25th to do a pregnancy test. I am sooo anxious. I took a hpt 3 days ago and it came out negative. I am soooooooo frustrated.
I forgot to mentioned that my period hasn't come yet. I were supposed to get it on the day of the transfer (10/11), but it is now the 21 and no signs of my period.
3 eggs were frozen. We are so grateful to God and excited. Thanks for checking back with me. Please keep me posted on what's going on with you. As always, I'm praying for you.
Thanks for your prayers. I'm so stressed out and I hope it is not affecting the outcome. My stress is not from anticipation of the results. It's other things.
hi my name is kubi and live in south africa, sorry to but into your thread but need some advice..had my embryo transfer on the 19th of october transferred only one 5 day blastocyst excellent quality the doc said. i am now 7 days or is it 9dpt, took a hpt and it was negative ...going a little crazy ...has anyone got a positive test using hpt and this early stage...please respond thanks
I have read other people experiences who have got negative test at home and positive blood test in their clinics. It might also be a bit early for the home pregnancy test to detect the hCG, so stay calm and have a positive attitude.
try not to get stressed...like that's not stressfull hearing LOL :)
we test 9 days post transfer at my res
and HPTs work soon.
My RE says rest for at least 48 hours, some say 72 hours (my first REs said 24)
I think it is a guessing game for all of them
last pregnancy I had IVF, three days of strict bed rest, then beta on day 10 post transfer was 467
best of luck keep us posted
My estrogen was in the 1000's (where it is suppose to be)Felt NO pain the first round ...this one - was I in for a shock HURT LIKE HELL (recovery)
anyway, back to your question...
Jacquie
About 30hrs 'til Dr. appt. but who's counting.....
The waiting game is horrible. And if anyone has been put on the estrogen supplements vs the HCG injections please let me know. I have been an emotional mess....it's not like I am lacking estrogen, so the supplements ontop of what I have normally is makeing me an emotional trainwreck.
Congratulations! That is awesome. Thanks for checking in after your BFP!!!
Keep your head up and most important think positive!
can anyone give me an info.
Sticky Sticky Baby Dust to Us...
Never knew forums like these were available. We had IVF on saturday. I've been resting doing the least possible.. so excited, but very nervous. I wish I could fall asleep and not wake up until next week day of pregnancy test. That's all I think of. Good luck to everyone. God Bless.
Was yours a fresh or frozen transfer?
My husband does not want me to, he says to just wait but i'm dying to know. I had a fresh transfer. First try, i did not have enough embryos to freeze. We transferred 4 but only 3 were good quality. I'm very excited because I have been hearing many success stories with the first try. Thanks for writting me i was excited to see a message from someone. I will keep you posted when i find out.
The likelihood that I'm having twins is very small considering I only transferred one embryo. Unless it split...
please let me know if the no spoting is good or bad or if i did the preg test to early
thanks
kp
I'm 30 and live in Dallas. I don't have the bloated feeling or anything b/c I did a frozen transfer. It's a wonderful thing not going through all the stimulation and egg retrieval again. I'm so happy for you that you're pregnant. That's an excellent beta. Our sonogram is scheduled for not this coming Wednesday but the next. I can't wait to see the little heart beat. It's the best feeling in the whole world!
Keep me posted on your news. It's great having someone to share the experience with. I actually never posted to one of these - even when I went through it last year.
Never mine the ultrasound question. I re-read your memo and i saw you'll have it next wed.
Don't worry about the bleeding. I had no bleeding at all and I am pregnant. A little brown discharge only. The breast tenderness can be because of the medications. Good luck.
How did it go on your beta test friday? Was it good news? Let me know.
and ws due to have bloodtest on the 21st but before period due i got light period, just on my nikers, and then only when i went to tiolet and wiped, lasted from 16th-18th then just stopped, bloodtest on the 21st NEG, but yet i still have backache, headache, nasea, and no bleeding or cramps as i ussully have, i rang my dr today and she said to have another test done, but im inclinded to wait to see if period cames, as ivf is hard enothe get neg results, i was just look for someone oppinion, ao maybe you have had the same and may got good results???/
then if i had implant bleeding how long after that would i get positive result?
If was implant bleeding?? Normally my period is very heavy first 2days, i do feel like im having symtoms, but scared there all in my head, plz help....graham.***@**** Had 2nd bloodtest 2day but didnt phone for results too scared.
To everyone out there - Is anyone experiencing an increase in body temperature? I have been feeling very warm. Could that be from the meds or is that a good sign? I'm on estrace (pill), prometrium (suppository), prenatal vitamin and baby aspirin. HCG test in 2 more days.
good luck and all the best.
I'm happy for all who have had success with this.
feel like i am going to get my period any minute, but know that the drugs can make you feel that way even if you're pregnant. i am trying not to make myself crazy, as i know that it won't change anything....kinda wish there was something that was supposed to happen either way so that you had an idea what the deal was.... i thought this time that the nerves would be easier since i already have a child, but it really is not any easier when you really want a child.
i hope that we are both blessed with another.
good luck to you.

i have been soo tempted to buy a pregnancy test today, but chickened out. i may as well just wait for the real results tomorrow. it will surely be a long day until they call with those results !
I was very doubtful that this FET cycle would work, but I guess someone was smiling down at me.
I wish you all success in your baby making endeavors. I hope that you get a positive too.
I will check in next week.
All you have to go through is soo worth it & then some if you get the positive result. That is what kept me going.
You'll be in my prays for a higher level of HCG on wednesday. I really hope it works.
That center I heard of is the Advanced Fertility Center of Chicago, apparently there are quite a few out there though.
All we can do now is pray. You said that you are looking for a fresh cycle, does that mean in a few weeks you'll be trying again?
My health insurance covers 3 tries and, if any of the 3 are successful, you get another 3 tries.
I wish you the best and I am believing with you that you will conceive, bare and deliver health babies.
I am on the 3rd cycle. The first two were unsuccessful and, even though the stats say it is a low chance that I'll conceive because I am 41 years old, I have faith that I will. Please be in prayer with me and I will be praying for you as well.
I think the main thought behind this, is the success rate of the center, which appears on the CDC website.
Best of luck to you, maksmommy for tomorrow's test. I really hope you HCG rises to a high level.
I was very pleasantly surprised when I got the call from the nurse telling me that I was indeed pregnant. Keep faith that it worked !
Good luck !
Thanks
keep the faith that all will proceed as it should.
Congratulations and all the best again
thank you so much for the encouragement
I have been worried about my numbers (9day post transfer was 27) you have givin me hope
whats your situation now?
happy to be me? whats you situation now
thanks ladies
I hope everyone is doing well despite our challenges.
Well, 21 eggs were retrieved on Thursday, October 11th - 20 eggs were fertilized via ICSI. By Sunday, 14 eggs were still progressing fine and 6 were transferred. The doctor says they were all very good quality (2s and 3s). The other 8 are still in the lab and those that survive will be cryopreserved. We are praying for good, solid attachment to my uterine wall. I go for a blood test on Oct. 26th. Please keep us in your prayers.
I am praying that your next cycle will be a success as well. November's end will be here before you know it.
Did you get lucky in freezing some of your embryos?
i am so upset, is there still a little hope?
