Hi im 6 weeks pregnant, and on tuesday i had a scare as i started with really bad cramps and some bleeding, I went the hospital and they done a internal scan and the baby had a heartbeat (im so happy). They said it was probably the embrio implanting.

What i want to know is how long do u have the cramps for? The bleeding has stopped but still get bad pains.

They have toldme to no do as much aswell why is that

If u have any advice i would really appriciate it

Thank you

Cramping during early pregnancy is super normal and will in some form and will come and go throughout your whole pregnancy. However I would have the doctor continue to check you out to maybe see why you are bleeding. During my first pregnancy I spotted and had cramps and we saw a 6w2d baby with a heartbeat... during another ultrasound a couple weeks later the baby was only measuring 6w5d and the heart was no longer bleeding. Then during my next pregnancy I started bleeding at 5 weeks and found out I had a subchorionic hematoma that was causing the bleeding and I went on to carry to term and no have a healthy daughter. 6 weeks is way too late for implantation so there has to be another reason why you are bleeding.

The  bleeding is not implantation bleeding.  Implantation bleeding occurs (if it happens at all) about a week after conception, i.e. when the embryo implants.  Since you are about 6 weeks, implantation bleeding would have occurred about 3 weeks ago and would have lasted about 1 day.  There are other causes of bleeding during pregnancy but its impossible to know why it happened in your case.

As Alaysha mentioned, cramping is pretty common during pregnancy. Bleeding w/ cramping is not common so it is important to keep being monitored.
Good luck to you.
