hi.my baby girl is due in bout 11wks and i was wondering if anyone has any tips or thoughts on the best way to loose some weight after shes born??any special diets??whats worked 4 you??
thanx
Good friggen luck! ha! Actually I lost 25lbs in the fist week. I gained 40. My son is 9 months and I am back to my original weight, without working out or dietingLosing weight Yo-yo dieting. So I am sure it would have been faster had i done SOMETHING. momttc
Well I have lost the majority of my weight except for about 10 pounds and my daughter is 32 months. Just keep in mind it is 9 months up and so by all rights it should be 9 months down. Besides all that if you are going to breastfeed you will need extraExtra strength mylanta calci tabs Extra strength pain relief calories so I would not diet per say, just watch what you eat and exercise. I really think personally speaking that breastfeedingBreast-feeding tips Breastfeeding Breastfeeding - resources is the simplest, quickest way to lose the post baby weight. Speaking of losing weight anyone know how to get rid of this "baby pouch", besides a tummy tuck, even though I lost almost all the weight I still have a pouch.
I agree that breastfeeding is the best way to lose the weight (unless you are blessed to have the weight just fall off!). My little girl is 7 1/2 months old and most is off--I have actually eaten pretty bad so I really haven't been trying. Just a plug for breasfeeding: I realize that not everyone feels the same way, but it is so healthy for the baby. Even if you just breastfeed for a short time, it is better than none! And as much as people say it is inconvenient, it sure is easier to prepare than having to buy formula, mix it up & wash all those bottles. And you have the added bonus that it shrinks your uterus back down quicker. Anyways, sorry for the plug, but good luck with your delivery and the weight loss!

I disagree that breastfeeding works....I know it's supposed to, but I breastfed for 8 months and I'm still 20 pounds heavier than when I got pregnant. My daughter is 2 1/2. I have been thin my whole life, never had to watch what I eat....now I can't seem to lose anything even though my favorite meal is a salad. I think my body shape completely changed. A friend of mine lost all of her weight adn looks great....she did yoga.
thank you for all your comments,i will be breastfeeding and will have to see how things go..im going to be doing alot of walking to try and loose the weight..hope me prams hardwaring!!haha.
I had great success with brestfeeding! By the time i went in for my first PP visit, I was at my prepregnancy weight and as much as my son nursed, it was a wonder I hadn't withered away to nothing!!
All of the mom's I know that breastfed lost all of their pregnancy weight very quickly along with eating sensibly. I have been known to eat junk every so often, but it is not a big part of my diet : )
I've breastfed all 3 of my daughters, but still it takes me at least a year if not 2 to lose MOST of the weight. But I always seem to weigh a little more after each pregnancy. But I've always been under the impression that you needed to eat more while breastfeeding just like when you are pregnant. So maybe that's been my problem. Now I'm on the low-fat diabetic diet, so maybe I'll be ahead of the game after delivery because I won't weigh as much and my eating habits, hopefully, will have changed.
when your pregnant you have to eat an extra 300 cal. when breastfeeding you eat an extra 500 cal. The problem I had was breatfeeding actually made me extremly hungry most of the time. but they say right after you have the baby your metabolism is very optimal for losing weight. So just eat what is needed for the baby when breastfeeding (stay away from junk) and exersize...
I agree with kck!!!
I breastfed all 3 of my children, and it made it worse!! LOL I know, I know, everyone says it works, but for some reason it did not work with my body!!
Let me tell you, I didn't gain but 22lbs. AT THE MOST with any of my children (while pg), AND I could fit back into my jeans comfortably within 3 days... Then it happened - I inevitably gained wieght more and more during breast feeding!! I gained 45lbs. nursing my son. I too, had always been thin!! I was thin all the time except for when I nursed!! Maybe, it was because I had to sit so much while I fed them?
I ate right, like I did when I was pregnant, stayed away from fatty foods, and sweets, but STILL gained wieght.
Actually I'm still trying to lose wieght from when I nursed my DD who's 3 now! So I'm on the edge of my seat, listening for anyone's ideas!!
OH yeah! I tried exersizing 5 days a week with my cousin (so I wouldn't slack off, or ditch it), an hour and a half a day, for 3 weeks... did I lose wieght, or inches???? NO!! I gained 12lbs.!!! And that's when I tried going back to being a vegatarian!!!
DOES ANTONE have any idea how this is possible???
They say it took you nine months to put on the weight, so give your body 9 months to recover. Don't be in a hurry to peel the weight off - it could be detrimental if that is not your body's 'style'. And don't worry about those last 5 or 10 lbs until after you stop breastfeeding - your body will likely hang onto that as insurance for the baby. :)
I wish I could answer your question but i too have friends who could NOT lose weight while nursing and as soon as they stopped THEN they lost weight. With my first I was in my jeans the next day after delivery and lost way more weight while nursing, but with my third even during nursing could not lose weight. I have no idea why that would happen though =) But just so you know you're not alone! =)
