low heartbeat

I am 7 week pregnant, and I had an u/s last week at 6 wks 1 day, but the heartbeat was only 88 bpm.  I am going in tomorrow for another u/s to see if heartbeat has increased.  Has this happened to anyone else?

i haven't personally had that happen but your doc seems to be following-up to make sure everything is well...good luck with your next scan and let us know what happens...take care:)

6 wk. 1 day is very early and the HB is just starting to beat at that time and may be slow at first.  My last preg. unfortunately ended in m/c and at 6 wks. 4 dys. the HB was only 80.  But don't let that get you down. Those 3 days are hugely different in HB comparison.  I was also spotting at the time. Right now I'm ~ 7 wks. and am going for my first u/s next week. I wish you the best of luck!!

I don't remember the exact hb, but i know for a fact, that around then, my baby's hb was about the same. Dr was not concerned. previous poster was right.. it probably just started beating. 2 week later, my baby's hb was 180!

This could go either way.  It is ok to have a lower HB prior to 7 weeks.  After 7 weeks, it increases.  Good luck at your scan.
