hmmm...well lower back pain is normal during pregnancy, but it never hurts to get a doctor's opinion.  Let us know the outcome.

Could be the muscles and bones spreading, or could be heartburn.  My pregnancy heartburn doesn't feel like average heartburn, it feels more like someone has slugged you with a ball bat in your midsection and back.  If the doctor is no help, next time, try Mylanta and see if it eases the pain.  (You can at least rule out heartburn if it doesn't have any effect.)

I will be 40 weeks on Sunday and I wake up every morning with a burning sensation in my lower back...  It usually only lasts for about 10 to 15 seconds then is gone.  It feels almost like the muscles are going back to where they should be.  The doctor said it was just from pressure of baby while I sleep maybe this could help you.  But if you need to, talk to your doc about it.  It could be something like sciata (sp).
