maternity clothes

I know many of you are very far along so have been wearing them for a while now but I was wondering when you all started having to wear them. With my first child I was almost 6 months, and I was pretty slender. With my 2cd I was about 4 months. With this one (9 weeks) I am already finding my clothes tight. This has to be fat and not baby surely. Of course I would much rather it be baby than fat but from what I have read there is no way this soon. So when did you all start showing??????? Thanks Danielle

Welllllll, I guess I am one of those lucky ones. I am showing already and I turned 7 weeks today. After my DS I did not have a flat stomach again. I almost had a line that looked like I had a c-sec, but it was I guess just plain old fat! Now below that area my skin is swollen and protruding. It has in fact caused my upper stomach area to really bloat out. I think alot of it depends on the individual. I did not show as fast with my first, but I was 24 when I got pregnant and in much better shape! Here I am 31 and could have lost at least another 10lbs before I got preggo! If I wear my regular slacks I have to leave them unbuttoned. I have gotten a few maternity items, but I really am trying to hold off for a few more weeks!!! :)

I was also fairly slender before my first baby, and I swear I started feeling uncomfortable in regular clothes (especially jeans) by 8 weeks.  Try flattering skirts with elastic in the waist-worked wonders for me. I also found low-rise jeans and pants were way more comfortable. Don't fret-it doesn't mean you'll gain more weight, necessarily. It is just that your uterus expands more rapidly with very child, and every woman is different!

I am 25 and pregnant with my first.  I wasn't tiny by any shake of the imagination but I wasn't FAT either.  I started showing really early on.  I have been in maternity clothes for at least a month now.  I have gained about 13 lbs, but didn't gain hardly any until a couple of weeks ago.  In fact, I had only gained a pound between my two and a half and three and a half month visits.  However, I am bigger than most of the other pregnant ladies at work.  THe doctor told me not to worry about how much you show as long as you don't gain excessively.  Apparently they are not mutually exclusive.

Good luck!

I'm 11 weeks today, and I've been either in maternity clothes or really loose, stretchy clothes, for a few weeks.  Waistbands feel awful, don't they?!  I'm on the heavy side, but I've lost 15 lbs. since I got pregnant, so I know it's not fat.  I worried about wearing maternity clothes too early though, because I didn't want people at work to know I was pregnant too early on because last time they did and then I miscarried.  One of the girls I work with is due in about a month and told me I can have all of her clothes, so I'm trying to hold out on buying any more!

Well I will be 5 weeks tommorrow and all my clothes are getting tight already but I think it is more due to bloating than anything else. I am hoping to check out some of the area second hand shops and see what I can find in the way of pants. I can get away with normal shirts for awhile but I think my pants are gonna be way too tight in a few weeks.
