measuring 3 weeks ahead?

measuring 3 weeks ahead?

Hi ladies hope all is well with everyone on the pregnancy roller coaster. I am currently 31 wks and 3 days preggo, my concern is my last two prenatal visits the doctor has told me i'm measuring 3 wks ahead. I really don't know what this means to me and if there are any complications that i should know about. The doctor decided to set up an u/s for next tuesday to check fetal growth. I'm really unsure of this right now as i'm in the home stretch with no complications thus far. I was hoping someone could give me some insight to this. Maybe some of you ladies have had the same thing happen to you. Please leave me comments if you had any experience with this situation. Thanks for everything, Happy new year to all.

Debra

I always measured about 3 weeks ahead with my last one.  He ended up coming 2 weeks early.  The doctor had to induce b/c he was already weighing 8lbs8ozs and was 21 inches long with a 14 inch head!  If I would have gone another two weeks.....good grief that is a thought....LOL.  Anyway, I would not worry about it.  When you go in for your u/s they will be able to tell you about how long the baby is and the weight, just remember the weight can be off by a pound either way.  Let us know what the u/s says.  Good luck to you!

I always measured a few weeks ahead.  I did not have gestational diabetes and my amniotic fluid was fine. I just had a big baby. I was measuring 42 weeks at 37, so they did an amnio- baby's lungs were mature and induced me at 37 weeks.  My little girl was about 9 lbs 3 weeks early.  GOod Luck!

If you don't have gestational diabetes, it's probably just extra fluid.  I'm 32 weeks but measuring 36.  I am topped out with amniotic fluid.  The baby is also measuring 8 days big.   I get another ultrasound tomorrow to make sure everything is doing as it should.  I had one at 29 weeks when I first started measuring large.  Those ultrasounds are so cool.  I can tell he already looks like my son.  Good luck to you.

I'm 32 weeks, also measuring a couple weeks ahead.  My dr hasn't really told me what this means, just that it's nothing to worry about, although I certainly hope it might mean my baby will come a little early, I would love that!
