migraine

migraine

I have had head aches the whole time I have been pregnant.  I am now 35 weeks and I have had a migraine twice in the last week.  I don't know what else to do.  I hate taking the lortabs that my doctor gave me to take.  I feel like they are going to hurt the baby.  Any suggestions?

Are you sure it is a migraine? Could it be a blood sugar or caffeine headache? I would pop a couple excedrine quicktabs (tylenol and caffeine) and see if that helps.

I started taking 500mg of magnesium daily asd a preventative for my migraines and it has worked wonderfully. I was having a hard time responding to other treaments and didn't want to risk harm to the baby.

But i am confused, if it is a true migraine, why did your doctor give you lortab? It won't touch a true migraine, it is only  apin pill (which do not work on the pain caused by a true migraine)

If you try the magnesium, it can take a few weeks to work, but i seeme dto see results a pretty quickly. Ask your OB about Esgic or Fioricet. They both contain butalbital, but have always been allowed as a rescue med when I was pg.
