miscarriage, D&C necessary?

now i am 10 weeks 4 days pregnant,found spotting yesterday,had an ultrasound and fetus stop growing at 7weeks and no heart beat. by yesterday night started bleeding and blood clots with little pain. by today afternoon bleeding slow down and no cramping. do i need do go for D&C now? doctor asked me to choose please suggest and guide?

If you've miscarried naturally and nothing is left then there is no need to have a D&C done. These are normally only done if part of the tissue has remained or if you cannot miscarry naturally. Your doctor can do a check to make sure if you have passed everything and will tell you what to do from there.

The only way to know if you've passed everything is an ultrasound.  I highly doubt after 1 day of bleeding that everything has come out as I myself have had 5 miscarriages & the shortest one lasted 6 ddays BUT every person is different.

A D&C is offered to women miscarrying to ensure that everything is removed because if something is left behind it can cause serious infections in the mom which can lead to infertility & other serious health issues.

I suggest asking for an ultrasound to make sure everything has passed naturally ^ if not then having a D&C done.
