miscarriage due to chromosome abnormality?

miscarriage due to chromosome abnormality?

Hi all,

My husband and I have a seven years old daughter.  We had been trying to have a baby for three years half.  Finally, i was pregnant on Oct 2006.  We were so happy and excited about the news.  i had a sonogram on Nov 2006 (6 weeks), the baby was fine with a strong heart beat.  However, i started to have brown spot on dec 22, 2006.  I was so worry that i called my gyn, he said it was fine if it was brown and no cramp.  I went to see gyn on dec 28, 2006(10 weeks), he did the sonogram and it showed that the baby had no heartbeat and didn't develop accordingly.  He said that because of chromsome abnormality.  I was so devestated.  I did the D and C on Dec 30, 2006.

My question is can i get pregnant after D and C, will i have to wait for another several years?  Will i miscarriage again due to the chromsome abnormality?  I am so afraid to go thru this again, because my husband and i really want a baby, but going thru this event is very hard on me and my husband.

Francis.

Hello and I too am so sorry.

I have had 2 mc, and i saw heartbeat at 8 weeks on u/s but baby was measuring smaller and low heartbeat, i mc at 10 weeks.

other one was at 7 weeks.  It is an awful feeling but dont blame yourself, just know your body is doing its job.  You will clear up anything that isnt right.

It is still a loss, heal, cry and pray.  It will happen on Gods time not ours.  We will just appreciate it that much more.

I waited 2 cycles, but i think one is fine.  You will have an easier time bc your body is preped for pregnancy.

I will pray for you.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I know excatly how you feel. I tried to concieve (conceive) for about 5 months. When I feel pregnant I m/c nearly straight away. The next month I feel pregnant again. At 11w3d I started bleeding. Very light and no pain. So at excatly 12w I had an u/s to discover the baby had died at 7-8 weeks. I had a d&c that same day. And i was utterly deverstated.

I waited 2 cycles, brought a OPK kit to be sure and that first month, I feel pregnant. Im now currently 15 weeks pregnant. One u/s at 8, and another at 13 following some bleeding but my baby is fine. Heard his heartbeat today, strong at 145bpm. Id wait one or two cycles, that way you know your body will be ready again. I know its sound far away, but for me, looking back, it doesn't seem that long at all, though I didn't think id be here. I hope everything works out. If you concieved once, I'm sure you can do it again. Good luck darl. And lots of sticky baby dust to you...

I'm sorry, it's so hard to deal with a loss. I had almost the same thing happen to me this past summer. At 6 weeks the baby had a heartbeat and looked find (thought looking back I should have been at least 8 weeks at the time), and then around 12 weeks I went in and the baby had passed at 9. I had no cramping until right before I started bleeding, and then had  d and c. It was just awful, especially the fact that for 3 weeks I had no indication that anything was wrong. To answer your question, your doctor should be able to answer when you can try to conceive again, and it is very unlikely that this will repeat itself in your next pregnancy. My doctor said to wait 3 cycles, but most will say you only need to wait for 1 period. I waited and had 2 periods before I conceived again. I'm now 5 weeks 5 days and freaking out! But you don't have to wait forever to try to conceive again. I would wait for at least one good normal period, because that signals you have enough lining on your uterus to have the baby implant properly.

Just like to say im very sorry for all your loss.

To Leahms, can i ask when you said, you fell pg stright after your m/c after trying for 5months. Was it before you had any cycle? or one cycle? And how long did it take before you had your first cycle?
Im would really like to ttc now, its been all most five wks since my m/c where i was just 11 wks pg.
I have still not had any period, although today i feel like im ovulating???
I've heard many succes stories about woman falling pg two wks after m/c.
Thanks

Im sorry for your loss..

I had a D&C at 10 weeks last january due to the baby's heart stopping.  All the major developments of your baby takes place up until 12 weeks.  My baby also stopped growing at 9 weeks.  I waited 2 periods and i am now 8 days away from my due date with a perfect little boy.  Success will happen for you.. you CAN get pregnant.. just keep on trying...

Good luck!

PS i hear you are more fertile after a miscarriage.. i dont know how true that is but its worth believing in.. good luck and i wish you a very happy 2007

Hi, I know you didn't ask me for help but I thought I'd let you know what happened to me.  I have had 3 failed pregnancies all before 8 weeks.  I have been able to get pregnant almost too easily after my two previous miscarriages.  Most doctors ask you to wait to get your first AF after your miscarriage.  I remember feeling like I couldn't wait for that to happen but I did.  Obviously I am not a success story just yet, but I would think you'd want to wait until you got your first AF after a miscarriage just to make sure your body was ready for another pregnancy.  Some doctors say to wait three months mostly due to emotional healing, but my doctor said to start trying as soon as I wanted even after a D & C.  So though it is hard to wait, give yourself some time to heal physically.  Good luck to you!
