miscarriage then pregnancy?

I had a missed miscarriage on Nov. 3rd. I was suppose to be 11 wks 1 day but the baby had died at 7 wks 2 days. I ended up miscarrying naturally but I still haven't had a period. I want to be pregnant but don't know if i am. should i take a test? will it tell or still read my levels from the pregnancy before? the last time they took my levels they were 20... that was 2 weeks ago...

Hi i just had a mc on the 4th Dec and today i had a blood test to confirm my levels were decreasing. My doc rang this afternoon to say they were down to 14 which is really good because he said i can start trying anytime i want.  I asked if i needed to wait until i had my next period and he said no because i mc so early, 7 weeks like you.  I also asked if i had to wait til my level was at 0 and he said he had just had a lady in today who had recently had a mc and her level was at 50 1 month ago then was back in today for a scan as she was pregnant again without a period and her level was 500.
So after all that you may be pregnant if you have been trying.  He also said that if I had a regular cycle i should expect my next period in 4 weeks once the bleeding from the mc has stopped (which it has).  So you need to think back to what your cycle was like before.  It may be too early for a hpt and it may show some trace of the previous pregnancy but a blood test would let you know as you should have a level greater than 20 if you are pregnant.  Good luck and sorry for my babble.

I had also a miscarriage on Oct 21 at 4 wks.  I still have no show of period and i took a pregnancy test today and it showed negative.  I know i need to wait for my first cycle to come but i can't wait to hold my baby in my arms.  As I understand that when your hcg is  0, then a month later you should be getting your period.  Mine has been more than a month and hopefully i am pregnant and carry the baby to a full term.

well that's all good to know. i only bled for 8 days, til Nov. 10th. haven't spotted or anything sense. last time they took my levels they were at 22 like 2 weeks ago...we'll see. if i don't get it in a new couple of weeks i'll take a hpt.
