missed period

I have been on the birth control Mircette for 3 months now.  I should have gotten my period yesterday and today I still have not gotten it.  What should I do? Am I pregnant? Also, are you allowed to have unprotected sex the week of your sugar pills?

Ya I think you are safe the week of sugar pills. Have you missed any pills? I'm not farmiliar with that particular brand, but if you did miss you could be pregnant. If you are worrying about it alot you will cause your period to be late so try to relax about it and let us know how you make out. Good luck.

ok.  I haven't missed a pill at all.  I just sometimes don't take the sugar pills, but I always take the ones with hormones.  I didn't know there was such a thing as late period with birth control?

Sometimes on the pill I didn't get a period or I would only spot for a day or so.  My GYN was never concerned until I missed 2-3 periods in a row, at which time she switched me to a different brand of pills until my period came back.

It is possible to get pregnant on the pill, especially if you missed any or took them really late (like a day or two late).  The sugar pills don't count at all; I never took mine.  The pill continues to provide birth control even when you're on those sugar pills for one week (that's the week you get your period).  How many days into the sugar pills are you?

You can always take a home pregnancy test to give yourself peace of mind.  Call your doctor and discuss it---these are the types of questions they get all the time.

i have to agree with chris... you can get pregnant on the pill if u miss one and you happen to be O at the time...

just a note my friend got PG twice while on the pill!

definately get a test to ease your mind and let us know

although it was almost 30 yrs ago,my mom got pregnant with me when she was on the pill
