my 18 moth old baby vomits every 3 weeks to once a month.

My 18 month old baby is a downsbaby he stated getting sick and vomiting alot when he was about 12 months old. The first time he got sick he was vomiting so much that he became lethargic and dehydrated in just a few hours. Prior to becoming sick he was happy and plalying fine. He was hosptialized for 5 days on IV because he could not keep anything down. The doctors ran all kinds of test and cold not find anything out of the ordinary. They said he just had a bad stomach virus. Then about 2 months later he became sick again; vomiting could not hold anything down this lasted about 5 hours. I got him ready to take to the ER but soon he stopped vomiting and was able to hold down pedalite. The next day he was better. I took him to the docs anyway just to make sure. The doc said he probably just had a stomach bug. Now he's 18 months and he's been getting sick and vomiting every three weeks to a month. He will throw up for about five hours for more, no fever, twice he had diarreha, and then he will get better all of a sudden. Every time I've taken him to the docs anyway just to make sure and they always tell me the same thing that it's just a bug or stomach virus. My son does have refux and spits up once and a while; he had refux since he was 4 months old. I recently switched him to rice milk because his OT (therapist) thinks he may have a soy and milk allgery; he only eats baby food; rice, oatmeal, stage one and two veggies and fruit, so I don't know what else is in his diet that could be causing this. He's been on rice milk for several weeks now and seems to be spiting up a lot less, he got a really bad cold last week (he always has colds) and was getting better from his cold when he started throwing up this afternoon. He fininally stopped throwing up an hour ago and he's still sleeping now and is acting weak and tired. When he wakes I'm going to try to give him pedalite. I just find it hard to believe that every three weeks to a month he's getting a stomach virus. Can that be possible??? I'm really good about keeping the house clean, and I make my kids wash their hands all the time, I never take him anywhere when he's sick; even when he's getting better I will stay home with him for several days after just to make sure he's had time to recover. I don't allow other people over to the house to keep the germ factor down. He has a wellness check up this week and I will pull my hair out if this doctor does not help me or tells me it's a stomach virus. I don't know what to do.
