my 6 and a half week old

how many onces of breast milk should my 6 and a half week old baby be eating??? i breast feed but want to pump and bottle feed so i can go back to work. I tryed him on the bottle today he drank 1 and a half ounces fell a sleep for an hour then drank 1 ounce and fell back to sleep for 20 mins then drank half an ounce is that normal??

yes its normal . as long as he is drinking milk not refusing.

That is normal, because he is probably mimicking smaller feeds at the breast. If he stays awake, you can expect him to take 2-3 oz in a feed every 2-3 hours.

It really depends on the child.  I strictly pump and bottle feed breastmilk.  My 9 week old is drinking 4 1/2 oz every 3-4 hours.  Not all babies will eat the same amount, some eat more, some eat less.  As long as he seems content and is gaining weight as he should then I wouldn't worry.
