my first real period

my first real period

i just started my second period after having my baby girl. the first one (the one right after i gave birth) was pretty light although it lasted a long time but this one is just awful. my normal period was really light and only lasted 3 days...this one is the heaviest it has ever been. i have been soaking a tampon and a huge night time maxi ever hour and a half. Sorry if its TMI. This is day 3 and its just getting worse. Also i have alot of small clots. I had a c-section and i been pretty swollen and tender since then. Is this ok or do i need to go to the doctor????

contact your dr, but since your baby is so young, it's possible this is not your period but still post partum bleeding. and I think your periods can be very whacky after having a baby.

I had really bad ones after baby both times, but I think the others are right,  It can never hurt to call your Dr & tell them what's going on in case they need to see you.  I think the first few after baby were pretty yucky for me.

How long has it been since you had your little girl? This could just be your post partum bleeding just isn't over yet. I have a 9 month old son and after I had him, my post partum bleeding lasted for a good 4 or 5 days after I had him. I had to use those big diaper like pads they give you in the hospital for those 4 or 5 days before I could start using the normal pads again, and even after that I think it was another 3 or 4 days before I completely stopped bleeding. It wouldn't hurt to check with your doctor either just to be on the safe side. And I'm speaking from experience, in my personal experience anyway, after having my son, it seems like my normal sypmtoms of my period seem to be intensified after having him and my periods also seem a little heavier, but they still last about as long as they always have before.
