negative preg test

my period was a month late in january 2005. so i took a hpt on feb 1, 2005 and got a postive. i went to the clinic on feb 8,2005 and it was negative. i am so confused.. what should i do?

Go to the doctor and get a quantitive blood test, I think that is about 100%.  Good luck!

Blood work is the best test but home pregnancy tests are accurate also , did you take the test properly? It had not expired or been contaiminated  
Make a doctors appointment or try another hp test

It may be that the test you took at home was more sensitive than the one at the doctor's office. I found out the dollar store variety will detect Hcg (pregnancy hormone) at about 25 ppm (not sure if the units are correst) where the more expensive brands wont show positive until levels are in the hundreds or more. A blood test from the MD will tell you for sure. Do you have any symptoms?

Okay, just did some research and everywhere I read said that doctors use a urine test that detects 15-25 mlu and are often the same as over the counter tests with less packaging.

I'm confused because I have never heard that the doctor's office tests aren't as sensitive as OTC ones.  It would seem to me that because they are dealing with pregnancies and people's lives, they would be even more sensitive.  Where did you hear that they aren't?  

Nevertheless, I would request a blood test.

I had the same thing happen to me..the doctor's office will always make you wait 2 weeks after your missed cycle becasue their tests are not as sensitive as the home pregnancy tests. If it was positive at home you are more than likely pregnant. If you can bear the burden of waiting that's exactly what I would do. Otherwise you can pay to find out the same thing :) At any rate congratulations!

hi i had my pregnancy test at home come up positive went to the doctors and came up neg, then i asked for a blood test cause i did another hpt and again came up, unfortunally i had eptopic preg but i have heard heaps about both test i agree get a blood test but make sure its is the beta one, then youll know for sure!
