negative pregnancy tests

by dinkidi123, May 27, 2009 05:39AM
Hi i am new to this site. I have been reading some of your questions and answers to see if i can relate to any of these symptoms. I have had unprotected sex quite a few times through the last month and now i am late by about a week if my calculations are right. Normally i am like clockwork, right on time. On Monday morning i went toilet and had a very few light spots of blood so put on a towel thinking i were going to start only to find later on a light brownish stain and nothing else so the nxt day i did a pregnancy test but a negative result, I do have tender breasts, cramping in the stomach, eating abit more and had headaches every day for the last few days but all suppose could also be symptoms of my period. Am i testing to early and could that spotting of been implantation?? I keep thinking i'l come on tomorrow but it doesn't seem to happen? Does anyone else shoe negative tests but have been pregnant?? Many thanks

alot of women test early and get negative test and test positive later on. maybe you shoud go see a doctor and have them do a blood test...that should show up sooner.. guud luck and keep us posted!

I second that--get a blood test if you are unsure or wait a few days (or a week) and test again...it is possible you are pregnant but it's too soon to show up on  a test.

If you want to know go have a blood test done. So many people ask the same exact question. Pregnancy tests are made to detect a certain hormone your body produces when you're pregnant. It can take your body a while to produce the hormone or it may be too early for the test to detect the hormone. If you want to know without having to wait, go get a blood test done.

Otherwise you could be waiting for up to a month or a month and a half before a positive shows and most women can't seem to wait and assume they're not because one test said neg. then go about their regular lives and end up miscarrying and not even know it because they just take what they see the first time testing. A lot of women test right away when they miss aperiod too and on EVERY pregnancy test it says to wait until at least two weeks after a missed period. I was 5 weeks along and had taken many tests before finally getting a positive. If you think you're pregnant and just can't wait to find out go get a blood test done.
