by louisabel, Oct 15, 2008 01:16AM
i am 29 years old and i have diabetes and also, i am overweight.i just found out that i am pregnant last few weeks.before i found out that i am pregnant, i am experiencing drowsiness.
i just  started my insulin 3 weeka ago after i found out that i am pregnant. 5 days ago, i had my ob check up and found out that i have no fetal heartbeat... and also had ultrasound , twice from two different doctors to make sure ... but same results came out , i have no fetal heartbeat.
as far as  i know that, i should be expecting to hear the fetal heartbeat by now , by 8 weeks.
the doctor inform me that i'll have a d & c . but i wanna make sure about my baby, if it really has no heartbeat.after a week , i'll go to my doctor and to have a ultrasound again ...
please help me... what might happen to my baby...? why is it that there is no heartbeat...? i'm scared. i've been waiting for years to have this baby....
please

I'm very sorry. Unfortunately, statistic wise, miscarriage is VERY common. 1 in 3 pregnancies end in miscarriage.  Many things could have happened.  You will probably never know. It could have been a chromosonal issue, a blightened ovum, etc. there are many things that can cause miscarriage and you did nothing to cause it.  We lost one in Dec. at 13 weeks pregnant.  Nothing I could have done differently and it does not make it any easier. If you want to wait a week and have another ultrasound then do it.  Your doc. should be accomodating to this.  Good luck.
