no fetal heartbeat

My wife is pregnant for the last 10 week as per LMP, and i was advised a usg when it was 7 week where they could see the fetal pole but the heart beat was not visible. NOw another usg has been done in the 10th wek and it was found that the gestational sac has grown appreciably and a fetus can be seen but no heartbeat. the doctor has advised another usg after 10 days and then if no heartbeat is detected then a abortion has to be done.
my wife was advised MICROGEST ( Progestrone )100mg and folvite since the pregnancy was found.
I would like to ask is this the end of the baby and should I go in for abprtion after the third USG

I'm not sure who you were writing this to as you started it our "Sir", but this is a forum full of mostly women who are pregnant or trying to conceive. I'm sure someone may have an opinion or has shared a similar experience as you, though and will be willing to share some advice.

If there is no hb on the next us, I am sure your doctor will advise a dnc.  Your wife may begin to miscarry naturally in the meantime.  

It doesn't sound hopeful for this little one.  I am sorry for your loss.  I have lost two children and it is a very hard thing.

I am now having the same problem. mine is almost 17wks and there is no heartbeat detected. doctor advised to have an ultrasound.
This might be an abnormal pregnancy. doctor said that there might not be a baby inside, just the placinta, can be H-mole. it was said to be very dangerous.
what hurts for me is its my first baby.
