no heart beat

hi ya i went for a early scan on wednesday and i got tld i was 5wks the doctor could see everything apart from the heartbeat but told me to prepare myself for a misscarriage i have to go back in 2wks for another scan to see if it changes. i went seeing my gp and she said i might of missed misscarriage. im so confused dont know what to think. ive had a healthy pregnancy in the past. thanks natasha

Generally from 6 ½ -7 weeks is the time when a heartbeat can be detected and viability can be assessed... im not sure why he/she is concerned about the pregnancy if the heartbeat was the only part missing? i would wait to see what happens in 2 weeks as it seems a bit early to be talking MC with out giving you a reason? take care and i know its hard but try not to stress over it and hopefully 2 weeks will give some great news!
