normal period during pregnancy

by Christybelle, Dec 10, 2008 11:10PM
I have been on birth control since august, but I started antibiotics last week, and the first day of the antibiotics my husband and I had unprotected sex. I know that antibiotics can make birthcontrol pills less effective, so I was a little scared that I could be pregnant. Less than a week later I got my period along with really painful (normal for me) cramps and all. Could I be pregnant? Thanks for your help!

I don't think that you are pregnant if you got your period.  I have heard of cases of women who continued to bleed as if menstruating throughout their pregnancy, but it's not very common.  Wait a couple of weeks and take a test, if you'll rest easier, but I don't think that you're pregnant.  I would say chances are slim.
