o/t but i think it's better suited here than preg 21-34

"m looking to start doing daycare in my own home...after i get a good "clientelle" i'm going to work on getting my state licensing.....i have noticed alot of providers state they are christian oriented, but aren't always(or you have non-christian parents!)....i guess what i'm asking is, as it's been awhile since i've done full child care, is what you as a parent look for in an at-home provider....below is what i'm starting with, and i'd like to add to it, along with some type of "publication" or "record" for each child's week that covers what they've eaten, behaviours, food consumption, meds given(if the child is sick or becoming sick), etc....

1. Weekdays 6a-7p(negotiable, as traffic/jobs vary!)
2. Weekends, up to 4 hours a day(any 4 hours, shifts vary I know!)
3. Hot Meals, 2 snacks(varying on age appropriateness)
4. I DO have a crib available!
5. After School Pick up in the Klien/Spring ISD's
6. I do live in a duplex, but will arrange for outings, wether lunch, parks, or educational lectures/tours.
7. Multi-child discounts!

i havent added the part about the updates yet, this is just what i'm showing so the ads i place are not overbearing....tips greatly appreciated!!!  my goal is to stay at home with my own child when he is born, and provide inexpensive, very flexible childcare for parents of moderate to low income....does that make sense?!

infant/child CPR and first aid certified should be advertised. if you don't have it, start working on it now.

also, parents want to know that you won't be closed often. you don't have to put this in your ad, but arrange for the same person to be a substitute. (i know in my state this is required to be licenced anyways).

Obviously what tiredbuthappy said....the first aid and CPR is critical.

You want to make sure your home is child proofed.  Including child proof door handles.

I even went as far as to put top chain locks with alarms (you can get at Walmart) on every door that leads to the outside.

Gates, for specific areas, playing, sleeping, eating.  You'll also want to provide them a daily routine or curriculum....especially for children over 1 yr old.
