some woman have cysts during PG and it doesn't effect the PG at all. her doc should keep an eye on it to make sure it doesn't get bigger. alot of woman find that it will go away due to the progesterone of PG. it might cause her some minor discomfort but it should not effect her PG. this cyst could also be a reminant of the corpus luteum formed after ovulation. this cyst grows and produces progesterone the 1st 12 weeks of PG and should start to go away after 14 weeks...some woman keep theirs till delivery. just make sure her doc is keeping an eye on the cyst.

love....kimmie

I had cysts on my ovaries during several of my pregnancies at the beginning. My pregnancies went to term with no problems. The cysts went away later in the pregnancy.

What symptoms did she have to know that there was a cyst?  I have had them previously and was feeling similar symptoms with my first pregnancy (I'm 13 wks) but the doctor said it was just a pulled muscle.  I still have a twinge of doubt but I don't have my first scheduled ultrasound until the end of November.  The only difference between my pain currently and previous cysts is that this pain can be comforted with different positions but my cyst was a constant pain.  Just wondering!  :)

I am approxamately 5 weeks pregnant. I had my ultrasound this morning and Doctor found a cyst the size of a golf ball in my right ovary. Dr. was concerned and said that after I give birth I will have to undergo surgery to remove the cyst if it doesn't shrink on it's own. So I believe that my pregnancy should be fine with the cyst and should not effect it in any way. So rest assured your pregnancy will be fine!

My neice is five months pregnant and has had one ultrasound. They did not see anthing for the first ultrasound. Now she has just been release from the hospital with sever abdominal pain and they found a large cyst on her ovaries. How did they miss that and what can be done about it while she is pregnant and also can it be cancer? Will she be able to care the baby to term if the cyst continue to grow as the baby grow?

hi kimmie, im Normz, 23, from Philipines. you know aftr  i gave  birth to my daughter last august i also had a cyst on my left ovary.. and the worst is my daughter got a down syndrome. i undergo surgery  last november and they found out that the cyst is cancerus (immature teratoma) so now im having my regular check up to my oncology doctor. so it is not safe you need to go a specialist. Now im facing my hard problem, i need to undergo chemoterapy and  im so scared for this.
