ovarian cyst question

Good morning ladies....I have a question about ovarian cysts.  I was wondering if anyone knows if there is a connection between having an ovarian cyst rupture in early pregnancy and having a m/c.  The reason I am asking is the last 2 times I got pg, I had an ovarian cyst rupture and with in a couple of days to a week I m/c both pregnancies.  I am just starting to wonder if there is something connecting the two, and if there is anything that can be done to help.  I should also mention I have had 3 ovarian cysts rupture (that I was physically aware of) and all 3 were on my left side, do you think that there maybe something wrong with my left ovary?  Any insight or advice you may be able to offer would be very much appreciated. Not sure if this will help or not but when I was 10weeks pregnant I had a dull constant pain (sometimes sharp) on my lower left side.  With a history of ruptured cysts also, I immediately went to the doctor.  He said it was just a pulled muscle but that either way the cysts would not hurt the baby.  I don't know if that's true everytime, for everybody but that's what I was told.

All I know about cysts is what I have reada, so its not much.... From what I understand, the cyst is supposed to disentagrate about ten days after conception, and if it doesnt it should be removed  surgically if there is any threat of rupture or twisting.  Why isnt your dr removing the cysts, especially since you have a history of a problem with them>?  As to a connection bt that and mc, I have no idea.  sorry.

I'm not sure about cyst either.  I just recently miscarried and the ER doctor said that in my uterius there was a spot they think could be a cyst.  He didn't tell me much about it... they also couldn't rule out a ectopic pregnancy.  

I called my OBG the following day, he has the US, but he didn't sound to concerned.  He wasn't even concerned of a possible Ectopic pregnancy because my HCG numbers were to low and I haven't been experiencing any side pains or sharp pains.  I'm going to ask him on my appointment on Friday.  I'll let you know if they are related since the ER doctor brought up the cyst question and I had the MC.

I had a right ovarian cyst when I was 14 weeks pregnant it cleared on its own. But I dont know about the rupturing ones. Good luck

Howdy, the Clomid caused me to have a large cyst that did not go away on its own but did rupture. I think I was about 11 weeks the pain was awful as I could barely walk and I saw the actual fluid from it pass, Yuck but thank God baby was unaffected and is just fine.

I believe Harley-grl had a cyst rupture earlier in her pregnancy and everything is fine with her. Have you asked your dr about that possibility?

neparker, pleas do let me know what they have to say- it was just something that I was thinking about everything dh and I have been through and thought to myself "Huh, I wonder if there's a connection."  Good luckt to you and please keep me updated on how the appointment goes.

Luv babies, no I haven't asked my dr about the cysts, as I told neparker it was something that just kind of popped into my head.  I don't know when I will see my RE again, hopefully I'll remember to ask him about it.  Thank you for your response- good luck to you.
