ovulation test question

hi there i had my 5th m/c in april and desperately want to get pregnant again asap, this is the 1st cycle we have been ttc and i got my first positive on an opk 2 days ago, we had sex the 2 days leading up to the positive and also the day i got the result, i wondering if iv missed my chance because we didnt do it last night and i read today that after ur positive on a opk u ovulate 1-2 days later so now im wondering if i have missed my shot? please shed any light as iv tried using them before i had my dd and never picked up my ovulation on the so iv been testing from the start of my cycle to maje sure i dont miss it so i have not used the properly before so any dvice would be great! baby dust to everyone ttc :)

When you get your positive it does mean that ovulation is right around the bend.  I did the same things you did.  When I got my positive I had sex that night.  Sperm lives inside you for a few days so I assure you that it was still there when you ovulated.  I got a BFP the first month I used the OPKs so I wish you luck!

You are fertile for about 3 days prior to O, day of O and approximately 2 days after. A positive on an OPK means you will O within 24-36 hours. Sperm carrying female DNA swim faster and can be waiting when the egg is released and male carrying DNA swim slower but live longer so they meet up with the released egg differently but all sperm only survive for 3 days maximum. Given your timing it is possible..good luck and baby dust to you...
