ovulation tests

Hey Everyone! So me and my bf are trying to have a baby and my period is always off.  Last cycle was 36 days.  I tried the ovulation tests this months and i have been taking them for two weeks and all are negative and today I woke up spotting and I am not due for my period for about 1-2 weeks.

I'm not sure what the problem could be then...you usually ovulate mid cycle and since your last cycle was 36 days then you can estimate ovulation (if this one is going to be the same) to be around cd18. So you should start to see a  darker line appear approaching that day so just say from around cd16-19. (This is all just an estimate of course).
What day are you on now? Even if you aren't seeing a positive, keep on BDing anyway just incase. Spotting can be a sign of ovulation, but then if that was the case then you would have seen a positive test.
