pain in my stomach

I have been having a lot of pain in my left lower side. It mostly comes during the time for me start my period, but the pain seems to last longer and I seem to spot weeks after. The pain goes into my back and into my left leg. I have had my tubes tied back in 2002. Once my period is over weeks later I have a smelly order, and it's not a fishy one like I read. I know this sounds gross, but I don't know what to do. I have made an apointment to see my OB-GYN, but I am nervous. I have read so many things that it could be. Does anyone know what this could be?

You sure could have BV.  It's great that you have an appointment to see your ob-gyn.  Be as specific as possible about the realtionship of the period to the odor, whether it is right away or later, and tell him or her how regular your periods are with actual dates, if you have them.  Good luck!
