painful belly button

Hello-I am 12w 5d pregnant with baby #2 (3rd pregnancy).  My belly button hurts sporadically.  It is hurting now.  I have an 'innie' and the top ridge feels as though there is something there-something I can push on.  It hurts when I move, hurts to the touch and hurts when I cough (which I have been doing frequently due to a cold).  

Have any of you ever experienced anything like this?  Do you think I need to be worried about it?  It comes and goes, but when it is here, it hurts.

I remember having that when I was pregnant with my first child - a girl (not for my other two, boys) my tummy was so huge that I feel that my belly button was pushing thru. As for me I just leave it but why not ask your gyne for something that can help to sooth it, good luck.

I had the same problem.  My belly button was sticking out and hurting like crazy.  I just tried to wear loose clothing so it didn't rub.

I had that too. It hurt like a bruise for a long time. Next time I would wear some kind of cushion - like a donut - around it.

I had the exact same thing, it felt like a bruise.  It will go away though, i think its just stuff stretching :)

Thanks for the reassurance :)  Its funny how I don't remember much of anything from my first pregnancy-my DD is five today!
