partial molar pregnancy ANY INFO please....desperate and scared..

After having 2nd molar pregnancy, i am very scared....my doctor seems to know very little about molar pregnancies and i have found some info on the web which seems a bit scary....but not enough...should i be having a chest x ray like some people with ONE partial molars have had??? Nobody told me i should have one....and now my blood tests are back, my hcg is falling (which is good )and i have VERY HIGH "LDH" levels whatever they are...i called my doctor and he said "dont worry"!!!! i feel like screaming!! I am still having heavy bleeding (now 10 days after DNC, chest pain, migranes (migraines), heart palpitations and back pain. My doctor said it "may be because i am anxious (AT LEAST HE GOT THAT RIGHT!!)Should i be doing something or just wait like the doc suggested??

I had many weird things happen to me after my molar. First of all I had a chest x-ray right away. They do that to make sure it hasn't spread to the lungs I believe. The lungs and ovaries are 2 places that it spreads to first.

I had what seemed to act like menopausal symptoms after mine. I had night sweats, heart palpatations, vertigo, and nausea. I felt sick all of the time and lost 40 lbs and got down to 110 lbs over a few months. Everyone thought it was depression but I swear it was hormonal. I have never been a depressed type person and felt sad but not really depressed. I would wake up at night shaking and couldn't stop. It was the worst year of my life.

Do you go to an OB doctor or a family doctor? My family doctor was also clueless on molars and had to research what to do for me.

I became anemic really fast after my d&c because of blood loss. I started taking iron. About a week later I was in severe pain and they did more x-rays and I found out it was because I was completely plugged up. (constipated)

I think you may need to see someone that knows more about molar pregnancies. You need to get checked out. Don't just sit and wait it out.

Was your diagnosis an actual molar pregnancy, or was it a *partial* molar pregnancy? If it's partial (PMP), there's really not much follow-up needed beyond watching your hCG levels go back to zero. The chest X-ray and more thorough follow-up is usually reserved for true molar pregnancies. (And from what I've been reading, PMPs aren't true molar pregnancies at all; they're actually "triploid pregnancies" which have totally different characteristics than molar pregnancies.)

As for bleeding, I'm now 16 days post-D&C, and I'm still spotting. It's very light now, but it was more like a period until day 13.

Anyway, you may want to have your doctor clarify whether you truly had a molar pregnancy, or if it was a PMP (your original subject line said PMP, but your message said molar). Just having clarity on that may make you feel better.

Good luck, and I'm sorry you're going through this.
