period

Hello, I have been trying to get pregnant since the summer of 08.   I went off the pill in July 08.  My period at the beginning was about 21 days long for about 5 months.  Now it is between 23-25 days.  The last many month I began brown spotting at day 20 or 21 for 3-4 day and 1 day with no spotting and then 1 day of red blood.  Is this normal?  Am I ovulating?  Do I count day 1 of my period on the first day of brown spotting or red spotting.  Thanks for the help.

You might want to do OPK's and test to see if you get a + for ovulation. Discuss it with your Dr. and maybe he will do blood work 7 days after your + and test to see if you ovulated. Best of luck to you!
