period after abortion

Hi. Im new to all this............I will start with my story first.........I was 4/5 months pregnant before I had my scan....... 24.11.08 was so excited ( Already mother 2 a gorgeous 6 year old boy) when the nightmare began the scan showed BAD news...........was told misscarage was inevitable...and I could go home 2 let nature take it's course or induce my labour! my baby girl (casey) was born on the 30.11.08.........and laid 2 rest on the 16.11.08....I have never felt pain like it!!!!!!!!!!! not physical that only hurts 4 a while It's the emotional feelings your left to deal with thats the hardest!!

Well my question 2 you ladies is Its coming up to 6 weeks and i still have had no period? I bled 4 2 weeks after the procidure then just had like a kinda brownish dried blood 4 about a week after that.... realy would like to no b/c we  would like 2 ttc as soon as..........not 2 replace casey never would any baby do so..... she will allways b my second born my sweet ANGEL

For a first term miscarriage it can take up 8 weeks on average for your cycles to resume. That can change for later term losses as does the amount of time suggested before TTC again.

Have you spoken with your OB?

The OB should be able to give you an idea of what is a normal time frame and also will be able to inform you when you can try to conceive again. Typically for 2nd trimester losses, they suggested 3-6 months to allow your body to heal, not to mention the psychological impact a loss that far along has.

I had a friend who lost a baby at 18 weeks-  she was pregnant the very next month-4 weeks after the "birth"-  I was very concerned-it just seemed too soon for her body, and it made for a VERY long pregnancy-  but her second pregnancy was very healthy and so was her son-  so it really just depends on the woman and her body...  it took me 3 months after a miscarriage at 7 weeks to get back to normal and conceive again...

I am sorry to hear about your loss, and I wish you the best in ttc again in the future...

Thanx 4 all yr info...........realy should'nt stress out!! over it I no! but every thing i would like 2 know..... evolves around the menstral cycle ie ovulation,period, etc. So if it arrives it would help with alot not-knowing

just 2 up date.............. well my period has arrived........ so we will just have 2 wait and see..............!!
