period is late, but took a pregnancy test a week before and it was negative

Hey I'm 17, and my period is late, I took a test a week before to check (it was a cheap pound one) and said negative so didn't think much of it. The month before I was spotting before I come on, could I be pregnant even though the test said negative?

Do you mean you took the test a week before your period was due? Or you took the test a week ago. If you took the test before you're period was due, it was most likely too early to get an accurate answer - you're best waiting till period is late to take a test. I would re test with first morning urine, if it's negative then you're not pregnant and your period is just late.
