period.

period.

I miscarried about 3 weeks ago miscarriage want confirmed by a scan just the bloods, prior to the miscarriage I had 3 scans one at what of been by my dates 5+3(last period being 10may) but the doctor who scanned me dated me at 5+6. when scanned a week later by my dates 6+3 by hers 6+6 she then put me back to 6 weeks but said she saw a hb and all was ok and could fid no reason for my bleeding, both scans by same lady and both internal scans over the weekend I started to loose heavily and was scanned on the monday by the actual scan department who said that I was more like about 5 weeks pregnant evrything seemed to be growing ok as all was in order and couldnt understand how a hb was seen on the friday! a few days later my gp took bloods and the results were that i was having a miscarraige (miscarriage) and going by my loss she said it was complete and the blood results said the hormone was so low that I should get a negative test by last monday. Itook a pregnacy test last monday and it came up positive still, I did one this week on monday and wednesday evening and they were positive still. now today I have started bleeding again my bleeding stopped last friday surely this isnt my period so soon? or is this implantation for a new pregnancy? or without having a scan to confirm a miscarriage is the baby still there and ok? I have been offered no follow ups so they assumed it was a complete miscarrage (miscarriage)? I cannot see my gp as she is fully booked now and I cannot go to epu without a referral from my gp so I am completly at a loss and dont know what to think!
can any one help my clear this up.
thanks

It sounds as if someone doing the scans is not really qualified to be doing them as there shouldn't be such a discrepancy in the dates or confusion about seeing a heartbeat or not.  It is possible to have a heartbeat and then when repeated the heartbeat is no longer there (miscarraige (miscarriage)).  This happened to me.

I went back for confirmation via ultrasound and still requested a second opinion from another doctor's office -- but I had no bleeding or any indication of a problem.

If you doctor is checking your HCG and sees a decline, then this is an indication of a miscarraige (miscarriage).  If the level is considerably lower than previous levels this is likely why she  told you that you are miscarrying.

Occassionally if you are carrying multiples and one is lost you will have bleeding and a dip in HCG.  Or, some tissue may remain and your levels will stay up -- both of these situations require a doctor so you need to continue getting tested to make sure the levels continue declining and if not, find out why.

It took my HCG nearly 3 months to return negative so I would have tested positive on HPTs for that entire time even though the baby was gone.

I would ask for the levels and ask that they be followed until they are negative...I went every week for those 3 months to see where they were.

So sorry for what you're going through..call your doc and get the levels, explain that you are still testing positive on HPT and that you want continued monitoring of the HCG 'til negative.

Good luck.
