positive preg test now just faint line

positive preg test now just faint line

I had a postive pregnancy test at home and the two lines were very dark and showed up right away.  I had a urine test at my doctor's office which was also positive.  Today, about a week later, I did another home test and one of the lines is very very light.  Could this mean I lost the pregnancy?  I worry because I'm 42 years old and have never been pregnant and I have family telling me I'll prbably lose the baby.

Your urine might have been more diluted with this most recent home test. I'd get blood work done, which should show your numbers doubling every 48-72 hours which will give you some peace of mind. Congrats on the pregnancy!

As our friends at peeonastick say, the relative darkness and lightness means nothing.  I would go for a couple of blood tests to get the hCG count two days apart.  Good luck!

I did another test and the line was darker but still not as dark as the first time.  I was worried about the darkness of the line b/c I thought that maybe the darker the line, the more hgc you had and since my first line was darker than the ones I did a week later, I thought maybe my levels were going down which I know isn't a good sign.  Does anybody know if that is how it works with the lines or does it just test yes or no and not levels?

Really, a line is a line, no matter how faint or how strong it is. While it usually has been the case with me that the lines did get darker with each successive test, anything can alter it- each test will be slightly different on how much it picks up in your system, you could have drank more water one day over another, you may be testing at different times of the day...so I would not worry about the dark line or not...I would get blood work though and that should confirm the fact that your numbers are increasing as they should be.
