positive quad screening test

i just received a phone call from my ob/gyn dr. stating that i have a positive screening test and i have a high risk of getting a downs syndrome baby, im 27y this is my first pregnancy first marriage and no history of congenital defects in my family or my husbands.
we both shocked and panicked, i have 2 wait till next week 2 get my level II ultra sound done.
im completely lost and scared, dont know how accuracy is that quad screening test...
i really needs help

This is VERY common and I'm surprised that no one has responded.  A positive just means the numbers are higher for risk. Lets say a 50/50 chance. All the factors fall into categories and they get a number. Your number may have been 55/45 which as they say is (positive). This does not mean that your baby WILL have DS. I know I can't put your mind at ease, just search this site for positives on quad and you should find something. Also, usually they do an u/s with the blood tests to get an accurate diagnosis, did they not do that yet? Also, you can opt for an amnio which will give you 100% results. Good luck to you

im 27 and the results says that im at risk as 36 years old pregnant !!!
i did level 2 ultra sound and it didnt show anything abnormal, also im going next week to do level 2 ultra sound again and something called genetic counseling ( i dont know what is that and how it gonna help!!? )
im very worried of the amnio cuse it is a risk itself..
