possible blighted ovum

Hi,

Last week I went in for my 8 wk ultrasound and the Dr. couldn't see an embryo. She sent me to another hospital for another ultrasound and told me they only measured me to be about 61/2 weeks. The doctor rescheduled me for another ultrasound in a week, and also gathered more blood tests to get more information. My HCG level was around 40,000 which I guess is good, but my progesterone level was only 8.6. She started me on progesterone supplements and I go back in four days for the next ultrasound. I have not had any bleeding or cramping, but I am terrified. My doctor didn't seem very optimistic either. I'm praying that everything is going to be ok, but I have no clue what to expect. I haven't had many pregnancy side effects besides being very tired, and I just noticed that I lost a few pounds. Any thoughts/ suggestions/ advice? Thank you.

I went thru a blighted ovum in march. You won't experience blood or cramps till your hcg has dropped back down to a one which means you could be going thru a misscarriage but its barley progessing  My bumbers dropped from 60000 to 18000 in 3 days I had mine removed by d&c it was hard for me since it took me a year of ttc & it went all wrong. But I kept my head high, & told myself I lost a pregnancy not a baby so I was ok. Good luck to you though, keep you in my prayers & keep me updated.
