I had a baby about nine months ago and I still have high blood pressure. I never had high blod pressure before or during pregnancy, only immediatley following giving birth. Ending up back in the hospital one week after having my son, with all the signs and symptoms of pre-eclampsia without producing the protein. So all of my test results came back negative for it. Has anyone else had this issue and does it ever go away?

I was hospitalized a week after having my son with extreme swelling, severely high blood pressure and a very slow pulse. I pretty much thought I was going to die, it was so bad. I did not have protein in my urine or have these problems when I was pregnant, either. The only thing that they came up with was that my liver enzymes were elevated. It went away within a few days though. I think it was stress, hormones, fatigue, dehydration and extreme exhaustion from having a baby. Mine did not last as long as yours has. Have they tested for everything? Are you breastfeeding, getting enough rest, staying hydrated, etc, etc...? Is your doctor concerned?

Hey my name is Ashley.  My first and only child is now 7 months old.  During my pregnancy I had severe toxemia.  I was in the hospital for a week and a half before they were forced to do an emergency c-section 6 weeks early.  My son is doing great, however, I am a bit worried.  During my toxemia my legs were extremely swollen.  I bet they were at least 4 times larger...filled with fluid as a result of the toxemia.  Now, 6 months later, the swelling is gone but I have all of this loose skin.  It makes it look like I have cellulite.  I run everyday and try to diet.  Is there anything non-surgical I can do??
