postpartum bleeding or period?

by 6 weeks postpartum my bleeding had been lighter & then stopped for a few days. Then it started again pretty moderate(like a period ) & lasted for a week or so. Is there a chance that it wasn't my period, but was the postpartum bleeding stil.(I am not breast feeding)

i am now 8 weeks pp and only bled for 1 1/2 weeks and nothing since.  i'm not sure if that is normal or if I am off.

Hi,
I bled for 5 weeks and then stopped pretty much (I would spot after sex) and then at 7 weeks I started taking the mini pill and had what I figure was a period. I've had nothing since and I am now 12 weeks post delivery.
I did take a hpt just to rule that out but it was negative so I figure my body is trying to get back into the swing of things or that I'm not having AF because I'm breastfeeding.

If you are not breastfeeding then it would be my guess that your periods should be getting back to normal. If not, I would test if you are sexually active and if that is negative you might want to call your GYN and see what s/he says about it.

I did take 2 HPT at 2 & 4 days past when my period should have been ( if that was my period at 6 weeks & not just postpartum bleeding starting again) & a blood (HCG) pregnancy test at 5 days late. all were negative, but I am under alot of stress which can delay a period.

Still no sign of a period, but I have a lower backache & slight abdominal bloating.
