i know they say it is normal for a breastfeeding mother to bleed off and on for 8-10 weeks. they also say that you can ovulate and start your regular period within that amount of time.
i'm betting that the bleeding you experienced after the 5 blood free days was you reg period.
if you are concerned about it i would call your ob and let them know, they can ease your mind for sure.
