I was also taking Lortab when I found out I was pregnant and I told the Dr.about it and he kinda looked like he didnt know what they were.I guess there is not may studies about pregnacy and pain killers. But he did tell me to stop taking them.I slowed down right before i found out.to like one to two a day instead of 4 like directed. He said to not worry about it.I also had 2 ultrasounds since then and everything looks fine.so I think you should be fine.Oh i dont drink wine but some dr say its ok to drink wone glass of wine a day.

Any drug (and alcohol is a drug) should be used with caution during pregnancy, particularly early pregnancy.  If you are not on birth control, or are trying to conceive, you should be aware that pregnancy is ALWAYS possible, and thus be careful of what you are taking in.

Having said that, Lortab and Vicodin are used cautiously during pregnancy, but no one can tell you with 100% certainty that they can't cause a problem.  Statistically, they have been shown to be safe if used in limited amounts.  Alcohol is another issue.  There is no "safe" amount--there have been rare cases of fetal alcohol syndrome from reportedly minor usage.  This is rare however, so if you have only had a few drinks and are pregnant, you are probably ok but should stop immediately.  As for the old school of thought that you can have a glass of wine a day, no MD in his/her right mind recommends that anymore.

Limit what drugs you take in, stop drinking, and find out if you are pregnant.  Then see your doctor.

If you are not trying to become pregnant, get on some RELIABLE TYPE OF BIRTH CONTROL if you are going to be drinking and taking pain pills.

thanks for all of your help everyone! i definitely have not done anything! i'm scared to death if i am b/c i don't want to bring a child into the world with problems suffering b/c i wasn't aware i was pregnant :( as soon as i find out i'll post something, but i'll also be looking on here for more feedback.but i'm sure there are millions of women who do the same if not worse as me and they weren't aware of pregnancy either and their babies turned out great! that's what i hope.

I was pregnant back in June and was taking Oxycontin due to a three herniated discs because of a car accident I was in. I wasn't planning the pregnancy and was scared to death because of the medicine.  I don't want to upset you, but I miscarried a few days later.  I don't know if it was from the medicine and I'll never know.  To make you feel somewhat better I did call a pharmacist and explained my whole situtaion and she told me that until the placenta is developed your baby is not getting anything from you, but once it is which only takes a few weeks the baby will get anything you put into your body. So you need to know how far along you are and then you can determine if the placanta was developed. I really would try not to worry about it and think positive.  The worst thing is to get all stressed out especially if you are pregnant.

One other thing, since I've been on this medication my period is totally screwed up.  I use to get my cycle every 28 - 30 day.  Then with the medication I would go some months and wait for it until almost 40.  So maybe you are not pregnant and the medication is screwing with your cycle.

I definately wouldn't worry about the few glasses of champange you had.  It's not as harmful as the pain medication is.

One more thing, since I am still taking the medication, but a lower dosage I am late again.  I was due to get it on Tuesday and still don't have it.  I took a test and it came out negative. The last two months my cycle was 28 days and now it's all weird again, but remember it's the holidays and stress is a big cause for your cycle being late.

I hope this helps and Good Luck!
